Commercial Description:
A homage to traditional European beers brewed for quenching the thirst of farm workers of "Saisonaires." A unique Belgian Saison yeast is used to impart a mixture of spice, fruity and earthy notes along with a lip smacking palatability.

Bottle in trade from joepais. (pastor) Thanks man! Pours a nice clear, bright orange color with a light whitish head. Smell is lightly funky, with yeastiness and citric tones. Taste is yeasty, sweet malt, coriander and other spices, and some citrus. A bit sweet, but otherwise has nice flavor and an average body and mouthfeel. Solid.

11/21/08 notes: bomber, part of tasting. Pours a light orange. Aroma is hoppy, with grass. Flavor is a mellow sweet, with fruit and soda cracker. This is a well-balanced brew that hides the alcohol well.

22oz bomber courtesy of MrRetardedMonkey poured into a tulip. Pours a crystal clear golden orange with a decent fluffy white head that dissipated very quickly to a ring with limited lacing. The aroma is a mixture of bready Belgian yeast, roasted caramel malts and spices. Not that I was expecting a lot, but there was virtually no funk at all. The taste is a little better than the aroma and had the slight funk I was looking for. There is still the dominant breadiness of the Belgian yeast throughout with significant peppery spices and a good bit of light fruits, peaches and apricots especially. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with good carbonation. This is a good saison, though not at the top of my list in the style or of Smuttynose beers I’ve had. Still tasty.

Bomber via trade with phhd. Thanks Ethan. Pours orangey yellow with a tan head. Nose is spiced and decent. Taste is sweet and spiced and slightly citrussy. Interesting psuedo Saison.

Bomber. Poured brilliant medium golden with a short cap of pure white head. The aroma was strong and spicy upfront with black pepper and spiked light fruity notes.. almost smelled syrupy with a pinch of honey joining.. warmth brought out some floral presence (chamomile?).. a little too assertive. The flavor had a sticky-sweet core of honey and caramel maltage with peppery and floral spiceage again.. just a little funk in there.. finished strong and warm. Thicker-bodied on the palate with low carbonation.. sweet at times when I wish it was dry.. not really digging the strong saison here.

22 oz. bottle - pours mostly clear and dark orange; white head to the edges; some tartness with aromas of orange and lemons; freshest tasting of the 3 sampled together; smooth, rich body; kind of reminds me of a pale ale with the farmhouse flavors; no funk or much sourness; most enjoyable to drink of the 3, but maybe more along the lines of an american saison

Pretty standard saison made outside of Belgium. Apricot aroma with slight amounts of funk. Nice fruity/spicy taste.

Pours a beautiful cloudy orange with a creamy white heads. Nice lacing also. Aroma of alcohol and apricot. Carbonated with a touch of bitterness. Not much barnyard funk present, contrary to some other reviewers. Fruity spicy and delicious. A nice surprise and will buy again.
