COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smuttynose IPA is a physical salute to the glory of the American hop grower. The citrusy hop flavor coming from a mixture of Simcoe and Santiams is pleasantly balanced by a smooth bitterness from the Amarillo hops. The beer itself is light bodied and crisp with a golden color that will throw a slight haze, as we bottle it unfiltered. At 65 IBU’s, this is definitely not a training-wheels IPA, but is meant for hop lovers looking to satisfy their craving in a way that’s not easy to find. We think they’ll be quite pleased.

Upper Manhattan, NY, April 2015. Light orange color, almost clear, short compact white head, hoppy smell. Aroma of grapefruit and orange, slighlty fruity, quite herbal. Nice taste, feels smooth, intense bitter finish, soft carbonation, medium body, dry finis with some alcohol. Good

Hazy amber, tight off-white head. Aroma of lemon and yeast. Plenty of citrus flavours, grapefruit particularly. Surprisingly earthy, pleasantly dank. Tropical fruits. Sweet initially leading to a lingering hoppy bitter finish. Really well balanced. Lovely.

Tap as Finestkind IPA @ Oliver Twist. Clear amber with medium snow white head. Nose has pine and grass with caramel and raisin. Basic IIPAishs caramel body with hops, except on a lighter foundation. Nicely balanced though. Light, nonintrusive palate. Long, sweet and slightly hoppy after taste. A Heisen-IPA that’s between one I and two.

Light hazy, yellow beer with a three finger high, white head. A lot of lacing stays on the glass.

Nose: Orange, tropical fruit, citrus, pine, grapefruit and grass.
Taste: Pine, grapefruit, citrus, caramel malt, biscuit and orange.
Body: Medium body and carbonation. Refreshing, dry ending. Great bitterness. Sweet malty feeling.

Great refreshing, original, IPA! I definitely want more of this!

355 ml bottle. Pours a hazy, amber orange with a small, off-white head that laces. Nice hoppy, grapefruit aroma with a hint of pine. Sweet grapefruit flavour with a hint of peach and a dry, bitter, pine finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Simple but nice.

Don’t focus on the ingredients like all the other raters. Just know that you will love the look, smell, and taste of this IPA. Few get any better and more enjoying than this one.
