COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Frankenlager is an IPL, a hybrid of beer styles is freakishly tasty and features bold aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and pine which shine like a diamond, thanks to cold conditioning and out clean-fermenting lager yeast.

Draft sample at Cincy Beerfest 2014 on Fountain Square. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a big, soft, frothy eggshell white head. Notes of straw, pale and pils malts, grass, florals, citrus zest, and some tropical fruits, as well. Medium-bodied, with a bitter, malty mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This is a style I donít pursue and yet have had 5 of within the past week, and none have been bad. Maybe brewers are just getting better and brewing high-boost lagers.

Bottle. Cool label! Amongst the frothiest pours Iíve seen ... a giant pile of foam guarding this hazy yellow beer from my belly. Light flowery aroma. And this drinks with a much more flowery essence than Iíd expect from almost any lager ... tropical, even. Canít believe itís 7% either. Many would market this as an IPA or IPL. (#5739, 9/14/2014)

Sample at the DBLDP on 08/31/2014. Hazy orange-amber color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing. Aroma of hops, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of tropical fruit, hops and roast malt. The finish is earthy hops and fruit. Decent overall.

22 oz bomber pours a hazy orange color with a small white head. Aromas of citrus, grapefruit, all hops in the nose. Light bodied, one of the better ipl I have had.

Drake (8563) - Free Union, Virginia, USA - AUG 16, 2014
Bomber from Beer Run, opened 6/11/14. Pours a hazy amber-copper color with a large foamy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of mild caramel malt and earthy, grassy hops. The taste is grassy hops, earthy hops, a bit of citrus, mild caramel malts. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, high carbonation, moderately crisp. Solid.

Cloudy reddish amber. More body than any lager that I have tried! Fine blend of surprising malt body and hops.

Aurelius (4178) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 4, 2014
Bomber. Could do without the cadaverous label. Fluffy eggshell head on a trippel-looking blonde body. Pleasant, sweetish, hoppy aroma. Lots of up front hops and fizziness. Plasticky sometimes. Sourish fruit pith. Lightly sweet. Medium to slightly heavy body, frothy mouthfeel. New Leaf Market.

Dorwart (2375) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - AUG 2, 2014
Nice strong white head of varying sized bubbles. Light citrusy and malty aroma with some saw dust, pine sap and cereal grains. Color is a dark gold. Noticable bitterness up front with more pine sap, grapefruit pith, chalky grains and some rye. Light citrus late swallow. A bit unbalanced with the bitterness to malt profile. Finished dry and a bit astringent. A decent brew for a lager.

Tap pour. Classic lager look with solid lacing. Very mild aroma of grass, citrus and candid sweetness. Taste is more pronounced. Medium bodied and dry. Grass and orange notes. Biscuit malt. Some green apple. Pleasantry bitter.
