3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz bottle. Pours amber/red with light off white head that dissipates quickly. Scent is Belgian yeast, apples and alcohol. Taste is heavy yeast, bread, fruit. Bitter yeasty finish. A little disappointed following a traditional Belgian Trappiste with this, but decent overall.

From 2013 bomber. Caramel, mild neutral fruity character with some cherry wood. Vaporous with alcohol and heavy duty esters. Raisins, plums, brandy. Beautiful lustrous deep amber-mahoghany clear with thin off-white lacing head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Alcohol warming. Starts pretty sweet but not cloying. Caramel, biscuit, cherry and cherry wood. Medium sugary tart notes, light tart tang and medium hop bitter finish. Warming sweet-bitter after.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells of yeast, prunes, sweet and fruity with some candied sugar present.
Pours a beautiful reddish brown, with ruby highlights when held up to the light.
Raisins are present in the flavor, but candied sugar overpowers much of the front end. Boozy in the back.
Mouthfeel isnít really anything to write home about. Pretty standard. Not bad, but average.
Pretty good quad. I wasnít disappointed, but I have had better representations of the style.

Draft at Roasthouse Pub in Frederick, MD. Served in a snifter glass, hazy tan brown color with light tan head. Aroma of caramel, candy sugar, dried fruit and light yeast note. Taste adds notes of brown sugar, dark fruit (raisins, figs), bread, booze and some light spices. Heavy body, moderate carbonation, sticky, rich with sweet lingering finish. Itís a sweet fruity quad, pretty good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours with a muddy river-bottom hue, and little head. The aroma is rich with candy sugar and syrup. The beer drinks with a strong sweet edge up front, the promised toffee and raisins definitely present ... I donít get any rum, and any yeastiness is buried in the sugar. (#5319, 11/8/2013)

2009 bottle. This bottle just kept starting at me in the basement. Fairly normal quad appearance with no head though. Big aroma of molasses and prunes. Nice flavor that tends to the sweet side with fruitiness. Very drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Caramel, toffee, apple, and alcohol in the aroma. Flavor is strong and sweet, with caramel, grape, and some spice. Finish is long and sweet, with some drying alcohol. Really good, but only if you like sweet beers (and I do).

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from bottleselect.com. Pours very hazy orange/copper with a transient, slight light tan head. Aromas of dark fruits and dried grapes. Lots of sugar in there. Near full bodied. Flavor is grape/raisin. Sadly not plum. Treacle. Well, I guess I like my quads fruity/sugary. Cause I like this. Itís heavy, but somehow the fruitiness helps. Itís not really bitter, and far from dry, but my mouth reacts like itís astringent. Very nice. Comfort beer.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a bottle. Dark orange color, medium lived nice frothy off white head. Sweet candy malt smell. Full body with a sweet flavor that merges great with the alcohol level and a incredibly smooth finish.
