Bottle:   Very heavy amber, moderate to large foamy beige head, decent lacing.   Heavy malty nose, bready, rather sweet, subtle dark pitted fruit.   Not as heavy on the tongue as the nose suggests, but still rather robust.   Good combination of dark pitted fruit, breadiness, and even some licorice.   Reminds me of Gouden Carolous Noel crossed with a Dubbel and a Quad.   Perhaps a little on the sweet side, and not very big and robust.   Its like a 1/2 Quad or something.   Either way, I would say its almost sessionable.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Lingering licorice, dark pitted fruit, and a malty breadiness.   Entertaining and certainly different.   I rather enjoyed it, even if I don’t think it is a real Quad caliber.   Thanks Jeff!

Boozy sweet aroma. Caramel and some fruit: berry and raisin. Sweetness is overpowering in the aroma and distracts a bit. Body is not as full and complete as I would like. Decent overall.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark red-chestnut color with a large foamy orange-beige head. The aroma had a whole lot going on, starting sweet and nutty and possessing notes of ripe cherries, port, wood, and cocoa. The flavor was equally complex with a tart and tangy base with solid notes of black cherry, molasses, sugar, wood, port wine, pineapple and cocoa. Amazingly complex. The finish was long nutty cherry and cocoa. Full bodied. Amazing.
