COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smuttynose IPA is a physical salute to the glory of the American hop grower. The citrusy hop flavor coming from a mixture of Simcoe and Santiams is pleasantly balanced by a smooth bitterness from the Amarillo hops. The beer itself is light bodied and crisp with a golden color that will throw a slight haze, as we bottle it unfiltered. At 65 IBU’s, this is definitely not a training-wheels IPA, but is meant for hop lovers looking to satisfy their craving in a way that’s not easy to find. We think they’ll be quite pleased.

Very nice IPA. Look at the bottle: great picture on it. Lovely colour in my opinion, great hoppy smell and nice hoppy taste. Could be a bit more extreme, but still it’s very nice.

Nice deep orange pour with a foamy, small head. The aroma was intense with citrus, mainly grapefruit. Smooth mouth feel with grapefruit, citrus, and a touch of sweet malt. The finish is a good lingering bite of hops. It’s everything I like in an IPA.

Pours a cloudy golden amber with a nice white lasting head, with good lacing. Aroma of piney citrusy hops fills the nose with some sweet malt. Taste is citrusy piney hops with some caramel maltiness. Palate is nice medium body, good carbonation, nice crisp moouthfeel. Finish is earthy piney hops bitterness with some good caramel malt for balance, ending with a nice sweet nutty bitter aftertaste. Overall a very nice all around brew

some piney aroma, some cheese dust notes. Golden color. Small head. some nice bitterness with a long bitter finish. Good stuff, but I was expecting more. Really well balanced though

Bottle. Pours golden orange with plenty of suspended yeast particles. Big off white tight head, good lace. Citrus pine floral hop aromas balanced with a caramel sweetness, bread and grain presence hops and malts balanced on the nose. Med-light body, med carbonation, Moderate bitterness only just overshadows a pleasant yeast profile, sweet caramel malt character is there right through the finish. Well balanced satisfying beer. Nothing too standout given the number of US IPA’s though.

Bottle. When warm had a very big layer of yeast. Cold it pours pretty clear. Amber with a moderate white sticky head. Straight forward woody with citrusy edges. A nice regular IPA with bigger alcohol. Kind of cool lingering aftertaste. Some caramel and almost Belgian baking soda note.

You don’t need my review to tell you that this is a good IPA, but in case you do... this is a good IPA.

Cloudy orange brown, nice looking white head. Citrus and woody hops in aroma. Fresh crisp bitter hops in flavor. Nice.
