COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smuttynose IPA is a physical salute to the glory of the American hop grower. The citrusy hop flavor coming from a mixture of Simcoe and Santiams is pleasantly balanced by a smooth bitterness from the Amarillo hops. The beer itself is light bodied and crisp with a golden color that will throw a slight haze, as we bottle it unfiltered. At 65 IBU’s, this is definitely not a training-wheels IPA, but is meant for hop lovers looking to satisfy their craving in a way that’s not easy to find. We think they’ll be quite pleased.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a nice little white head. Not a big nose- a little bit of floral hops and malts. Full body that is pretty smooth aside from maybe a bit too much carbonation. Really nice balance on the taste, finish is piny hops and citrus with some sticky malts. Great IPA- two thumbs up.

Bitter taste and after-taste. Medium head and body. Some hop bitterness in aroma. More filtered than I like. Fine IPA!

12oz bottle: Aroma is strong in hops with a hint of malt, appearance is a light brown with minimal head, flavor is strong with citrus hops but also backed with a for amount of malt. Overall a great IPA.

Pours a yellow-orange color, with a thin, fizzy head. The aroma is hop-forward, with a combination of earthy, piney, and citrus scents. The flavor has an initial earthy hop bitterness and a successive brightness of a grapefruit and orange citrus hop character, the hops being at least partially balanced by a bready maltiness. Refreshing, but still provides a sticky bitterness that lingers on the tongue.

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a nice hazy golden color with a thick white head, aroma has notes of grapefruit and hops, taste has a great hop kick with a citrus twist to it, darn good IPA.

Draft at Churchkey. Bright gold color, thick white head. Aroma of fresh grass and hops, very bright. Taste is bitter start to finish, but not over the top. Clean and easy to drink.

Poured with a nice amber color and a small off-white, lacing head. Delicious aroma, very well balanced. Floral, citrus peel, strong grapefruit, which all blends into a respectable hoppy bitterness. Medium dense with plenty of carbonation. Somewhat dry finish with heavy bitterness. Smooth, oily texture, this is a really good one.
