5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Apart from some high quality unique big bottled beers, smuttynose IPA can’t be beat. Magnificent IPA gifted by God with hoppy goodness and a crisp grapefruit aftertaste. Know smutty, know beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap. Pours golden, little amber, white head. Aroma is a mild citrus hop, liitle pine, little sweetness. Taste is mildly bitter, hops are mix bag, not too strong. Bitterness sticks around in aftertaste.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle into shaker. Translucent honey orange color. Citrus, floral, and hay aroma. Lightly sweet upfront, sour and fizzy in the middle, and light hoppy bitter finish. This is all over the place and doesn’t really come together well.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rödgul vätska med tjock vit krona som lämnar mycket rester på glaset. Doften är intensiv av humle med mycket citrus. Smaken är fyllig med bra beska

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ar: Pithy grapefruit, resin, pine, and a hint of clove.
Ap: Orange, hazy, with particulates - medium-large off-white head, leaves trail of lacing on glass sides, thin cap of foam lingers.
T: Medium-low sweetness, malty, slight caramel - grapefruit and orange - high bitterness, a bit tannic, somewhat rustic - finish is tea-leaf bitters and dry grapefruit rind.
P: Medium body with high carbonation - finish is dry.
O: Nice IPA - lots of citrus, highly bitter, with some nice backing malt.

Best by: Dec, 2011
A: Ale is ruddy copper after a open draining of the bottle. Three fingers of egg whites are whipped as a top. This falls slowly to a sheet of the same, cobweb lace. Chunks of yeast in suspension - cloudiness is of my doing, had it before and it’s excellent clarity.
S: Slightly metallic and oxidized malts along with some earthy hops are here. Struggling to get much else in here. Some pine, little bit of grapefruit.
T: Bitter at first, then sweetness comes through in an almost chemical way. There is still the metallurgic tone I sensed in the nose, along with some robust peppered sage flavor. Herbal, not fruity.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carb. Slightly slick finish.
O: Meh, it’s very average in my book.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours orange with a off white head. Taste floral, citrus. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the Khyber. Hazy orange amber with a thick off-white head that left a lot of lace. Resiny floral spicy hops. Lavender pinecones. Orange pips. Unripe green lemon pith. Green peppercorns. Lighy brown sugar. Rum. Artichokes. Orange tree leaves. Body is fuller than expected. Not bad at all.
