COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smuttynose IPA is a physical salute to the glory of the American hop grower. The citrusy hop flavor coming from a mixture of Simcoe and Santiams is pleasantly balanced by a smooth bitterness from the Amarillo hops. The beer itself is light bodied and crisp with a golden color that will throw a slight haze, as we bottle it unfiltered. At 65 IBU’s, this is definitely not a training-wheels IPA, but is meant for hop lovers looking to satisfy their craving in a way that’s not easy to find. We think they’ll be quite pleased.

Pretty decent brew. Pours a bright, clear golden yellow with a thin off white head. Pine accented, citrus abounds. Tons of bright, fresh floral and citrus notes. Bitterness is mild with light caramel and toasted malts. A nice easy going IPA.

Bottle @Pure Bar, Birmingham. Beautiful hazy orange colour with white foam. Aromas of citrus fruits, caramel, and hoppy freshness. Taste: citrus fruits hoppiness nicely balanced with caramel-malty sweetness, hint of honey. Pleasant dry-hoppy finish. Excellent stuff!

355ml bottle pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger white head that retains well and leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and pine with some tropical and caramel notes. Taste is a pine and grapefruit hop bitterness with a tropical fruit and caramel malty sweetness. Light to medium body with adequate carbonation. Overall, this is a great tasting IPA that is well balanced and I highly recommend it to others.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2015 Botella. Final largo resinado. Para mi gusto flojea el aroma.

From a can purchased in Brookline, NH. Just a very nice IPA - more citrus-y than the average New England IPA. Nicely astringent, good body. Good carbonation, as well - seems a bit more lively from the can than the bottle. Does that make sense?

Honey colored translucent appearance. A slightly fruity (grape?) aroma. A pleasant, mellow hoppy (and slightly fruity) taste. A pretty good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle labelled as Finestkind IPA. Pours a hazy medium gold with a small white head that leaves a bit of lace. Big skunky nose with grapefruit and citrus and a good dose of pine with a light caramel background. Flavour starts with a very light sweet honey and toffee before the big pine, citrus and mango bitterness takes over. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation and a long bitter finish. Nice hop combination.
