COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smuttynose IPA is a physical salute to the glory of the American hop grower. The citrusy hop flavor coming from a mixture of Simcoe and Santiams is pleasantly balanced by a smooth bitterness from the Amarillo hops. The beer itself is light bodied and crisp with a golden color that will throw a slight haze, as we bottle it unfiltered. At 65 IBUís, this is definitely not a training-wheels IPA, but is meant for hop lovers looking to satisfy their craving in a way thatís not easy to find. We think theyíll be quite pleased.

pours a rich hazy gold with a white lacy head. The aroma is bright and hoppy. Taste is very hoppy and bitter with a long bitter finish. Bolder than the average IPA. Pretty darn good!

A real favorite this. Perfect blend of hops in a light boddied beer which makes for a crisp, aromatic drinking experience. Absolutely lovely. Fun label as well.

Simply one of the best IPAs Iíve had. Smell is very refreshing and hints at the taste to come. Very sharp citrus initial taste with a smooth finish. Balanced and very light. Nice light golden color with creamy head that settles quick. If you like IPAs this is a top shelf. It also packs a punch.

355ml bottle as Finestkind IPA, from BeerRitz. Hazy orange amber colour, white foamy head and aroma of tropical fruit, sweet mango, orange, hoppy. Taste is malt caramel with mango and citrus, orange, grapefruit, pine hop resin bittermess. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry lingering peppery bitter finish. Very drinkable IPA.

I purchased this beer at the Downer Street Liquor Store after spending the day reading somewhat interesting literature on Modern Art. There is a lot more things to say about cubism than I had previously thought... but itís a required reading and I have dreams of being a decent graduate student so there you have it, the day is now used up. But before it was completely over I walked home feeling like I needed something. Naturally it is only a matter of time before I realized that that something was just beer. So at the liquor store on downer I set out to make a sample pack. I grabbed a few IPAs and strangely, unexpectedly, without reason, without being provoked, without cause, recklessly and defying all sense of logic, I grabbed a few fruit beers as well. It was kind of warm out and so one could assume I was feeling seasonal. Once home I remembered the tilapia coconut battered fish. I made myself a quick fish taco and here I am. On the third or forth sip of this IPA. This IPA was chosen above the others of the same title because of whimsical advertising. I am a sucker for whimsy. Now drinking it I think itís a fine beer.

Sal, Earl, Melvin, Art and Willard walk into a bar. These grandpas (proudly wearing a freshly laundered plaid flannel) order a beer each and a snack. The bartender politely smiles and saunters back with bottles of Finestkind IPA and an order of fried okra. The setting sun shines through the dust encrusted window as the bar fills with stories of 'ole. It's a great vision and it makes you smile... But keep in mind... This beer is the beer for your Grandpa. Since his golden years breweries have developed and cultivated countless GOOD beers. So, let by gones be by gones and let the elders enjoy beers of yester year. For those in today's generation... Try anything else. Please. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a slightly hazy orangey-golden color with a frothy, white head that lasts a few minutes. Sticky lacing. Nose is hugely hoppy with predominate citrus notes. Taste is bitter, very bright and pleasing, with a huge malty backbone. Medium body. Vigorous carbonation. Quite tasty.

Bottle at GBBF 2014. It pours hazy golden with a medium white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, orange, pine, tangerine, mango, light pepper, brioche, candy and dough. The taste is crisp, bitter, orange, grapefruit, pepper, resin, light dough and some alcohol with a dry, citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Crisp, fruity and delicious...

Bottle at gbbf. Thanks Paul. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nice, light lemon aroma. Light funky fruit too. Light body, medium carbonation. Lemon, pine, woody resin, orange marmalade... Nice dry bitter finish. Good balance. Tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
