3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I had this before, the current bottle I have says it expires 11/7/12 but there is way too much sediment in this bottle, must be from the bottom of the barrel. Other than than light, golden (my first review I wrote clear). Smells of light hops and yeast. Good carbonation and mouth feel. Really more strong on the malts, like an English style IPA, like Brooklyn, but less complex. Hops hit at first with some sweetness, like latitude 48, but big malts cover it and stay on your palate. Good for drinking

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2006 Pourrs amberish bronzeish, with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by citrussy hops, with a bit of malt sweetness. Flavor is dominated by piney and citrussy hops, very bitter. Not a ton of balance, so it doesn’t get into the class of great IPA’s but being very hoppy and bitter means it isn’t half bad.

Delicious and full of flavour. Great hoppy aroma. Has a nice hoppy bite with a strong grapefruity finish. I think they hit the nail right on the head with this one.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20

16oz draught @ big apple bbq NYC - very bitter and hoppy - absolutely delectable. I gulped down two of these at the festival in 100 degree heat and that may have helped the rating! When down exceptionally smooth and was very refreshing. Aroma of citrus and pours out a thick frothy white head.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a cloudy caramel/honey with minimal white head. Smells of sweet hops and corn with a slight citrus barley note. Tastes of sweet orange and yeast, then immediately bitter pine and grass - most prevalent in the finish. Very juicy mouth feel, but with a pine-tar dryness. Very bitter finish, and perfect for the American hop-lover.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy yellow-gold, with a good inch of froathy, bubbley foam. Aromas of malt, pine and citrus hop. Citrus up front with pine and malty finish - Simcoe hop very evident, bitter right after the start, all the way to the end - nice clean finish. I’m not a hop head but I enjoyed this beer

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Great citrus smell right from the start, with a somewhat darker color than expected, but still that yellow brown of an IPA. Heavy but not overly so in the malt, nicely hoppy but still decidedly bitter in the after taste. IPA should be that way but maybe just a bit too much, a bit too dry instead of tangy in the hops would be a bit more balanced. Not a bad taste, but the bitterness just continues to linger and linger in the after taste. Also feels warm at the end, must be the alcohol coming through - at least it’s not actually in the taste but at 6.6% I can understand it. Still good, but a bit unhappy with the finish. Just so close to being even better.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
translucent golden body, looks thick, with some "floaties" in it. big lasting white head that sticks to the side of the glass. good amount of hops, nice bold citrus flavors, somewhat bitter, yet smooth. not as hoppy as other but right blend of everything. impressed.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a nice slightly hazy gold with a thin white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops and malts. Sharp hop flavor is smoothed out with malts, but it still finishes with hops. I find this IPA to be simply delicious, and the label on the bottle makes it even better. I highly recommend this one.
