3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Merrill (78) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 25, 2008
Cloudy yellow, cold from a bottle picked up at Beach Liqours in Bethany Beach De. Wow. Orange zest candy and hop flower in the aroma which is very pronounced. Flavor is very hoppy with a very strong back bitter. Some nearly obscured malt warmth, but most of the brilliant flavor is hops.If you love hops, you’ll be glad to try this.

Very grapefruit hop character. Not very well balance, and maybe should be called ruby red ipa. Ok, but not anything impressive.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 StoutFest (77) - Stoutville, Illinois, USA - MAR 2, 2011
Pours a clear golden color with a white head that disappears fairly quick. Aroma is of straw and bread. Flavor is similar to aroma. I was expecting hops or something less intense than their imperial IPA. Not sure how this could be an IPA. Label said it was good before July of 11.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 MikeT (76) - Hollis, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 24, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 14, 2005 Poured this into a pint glass that let its hazy golden orange color show through and held a solid creamy long standing head and glaze.
The aroma hit the nose quickly with an intense hop and floral character. The taste was head banging hops that resonated the tongue with grapefruit and pine needles that quickly transcended into a very bitter finish. A bitterness that stayed with you for quite awhile. The mouthfeel was medium but dry,
Overall this is one great IPA and one that I have to have on a daily basis.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 braudimusprime (75) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 24, 2005
Pours a cloudy yellow with a fizzy white head. Some solid residues noticed in the pour. Aroma is malty and citrusy, but in tastingthe malts die out quickly and the finish has a solid bitter kick. This is a very drinkable, well-considered IPA.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 RxForHealth (73) - - NOV 5, 2012
12 oz bottle bought in myrtle beach. Aroma of grapefruit. Pours a cloudy orange. Modest head. Taste is initially bitter but then the flavours come out...more grapefruit predominantly. Long, not unpleasant finish. Probably would not buy again.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 HardingG (70) - Butler, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 3, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 9, 2011 In keeping with this style I can rate this as such. aroma is spot on for an IPA, although and added bonus for the orange peel. Appearance is hazy gold. Very inviting. The taste is right on, but with many IPA’s I just get the feeling of ’feed ’em the hops’ attitude; this is slightly better thought out. I do like the orange peel notes the boldly come out. Being I am not an IPA lover I rate the palate average - with a bite and tang. I do appreciate that the alcohol is not overpowering. Generally well done. Similar to the Shoals but I will give it the Shoals a nod being a slightly more drinkable.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Murrow (69) - North Carolina, USA - JUL 18, 2012
Pours a cloudy, deep gold. Lively aroma of lemon zest and grape. Piney hop flavors dominate, with a bit a light, sweet malt in the background. Smooth mouthfeel, light carbonation.

12oz bottle. Pours a golden orange with no head. Aroma is a bizarre musty citrus, perhaps due to opening several months after the "best by" date. Tastes of hops and citrus with sweet malts- pretty good flavor.
