3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle poured into glass. Great smell of hops, some acidic fruit, and a hint of malt. Light copper haze color with a white head that lasts throughout the drink. Bitter at first but finishes very smooth considering the amount of hops that give the pleasant taste to this brew. Overall a great Smuttynose brew, would highly recommend it to any hop head.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazed good with an enormous head. Aromas of mineral water and floral hops. Taste is bitter and semi dry. Flavors of bitter flowers, light cracker malt. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter. No tropical hop expression. Pretty middle of the road.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From bottle. Clean golden, orange. Full white head. Dirty grapefruit on nose. Some soil and pine. Medium (or just under) body. Bitter throughout. Bright citrus with decent, biscuit malt backing. Straightforward.

An East Coast contender, this has the hops in the aroma, and flavor, with great balanced on how the bitterness finishes.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very faint aroma. Looks great. Taste initially is pleasing, quite carbonated but still smooth with citrus/herbal notes. I’m not really a fan of the lingering bitter/herbal aftertaste though. Overall, however, this is one of my go-to IPAs. Good (relative) price for an IPA, easy to find, and reliable. Also just a fan of Smuttynose in general.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 fl oz bottle. Dark golden in the glass, light unclear, a lot of CO 2 perls. Small foamy head. Flowers and honey on the nose. Starts sweet herb. A lot of hop, also malt in the background, less fruity. A little bit bitter dry at the end.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
When I don’t have a homebrew at the house, this is my go to beer. Love the expression of hops in the aroma and flavor.

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had this beer from the bottle, poured into a pint glass.
Aroma is fairly flat; however, the appearance is very good. Golden, clear and sparkling with a nice thick white head. The taste is very pleasant; nice and bitter with a very strong grapefruit taste. All in all, I think this is good, well rounded IPA.

Transfer from BA review from 6-12-12-
Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance – The beer is served as a lightly hazy golden orange color. There is a one finger head upon serving, which fades over an average amount of time to give a medium amount of lacing.
Smell – The smell is of a nice bready aroma with lighter notes of orange as well as a good hop smell. The hop aromas are mostly of grapefruit but also contain aromas of lemon citrus and some pine as well.
Taste – The taste starts out a mix of biscuit and a grapefruit hop flavor, with an ever so light orange flavor. Toward the middle of the taste, some bitter lemon hop flavor with a pine hop flavor aggressively and rapidly mix with the grapefruit hop flavor. At this time the somewhat “sweeter” orange flavor is lost, but the bready base remains. In the end a hoppy malt flavor, heaviest in grapefruit, is left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is a bit above average with a slightly above average carbonation level. The body suits the bitter hop flavors very well allowing them to be experienced in full, while the carbonation is good for exciting the tongue alongside the hop spice.
Overall – A nice IPA that is quite easy to drink. It has a good flavor with the only thing taking away from the taste being a lack of good transition and variety. Overall however it is very nice.
