COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smuttynose IPA is a physical salute to the glory of the American hop grower. The citrusy hop flavor coming from a mixture of Simcoe and Santiams is pleasantly balanced by a smooth bitterness from the Amarillo hops. The beer itself is light bodied and crisp with a golden color that will throw a slight haze, as we bottle it unfiltered. At 65 IBU’s, this is definitely not a training-wheels IPA, but is meant for hop lovers looking to satisfy their craving in a way that’s not easy to find. We think they’ll be quite pleased.

12oz bottle poured into glass. Great smell of hops, some acidic fruit, and a hint of malt. Light copper haze color with a white head that lasts throughout the drink. Bitter at first but finishes very smooth considering the amount of hops that give the pleasant taste to this brew. Overall a great Smuttynose brew, would highly recommend it to any hop head.

on tap 9/2/14 @ Vagabund Brauerei, Berlin. Pleasant aromas of bitterorange marmelade, with a touch of grass and pineapples, great drinkability, nice mouthfeel with a zesty-bitter finish.

Tap at Hopfenreich, Berlin. Pour is murky gold with a foamy head, aroma is fruity, sweet. Taste is bitter with light fruitiness, a tad watery. Quite nice

Non mi ha fatto una grandissima impressione questa IPA a stelle e strisce, però ampiamente potabile.

Bottle. A clear pale to medium amber beer, with an average sized, frothy/creamy, fully lasting white head. The aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, toasted grain), moderately to heavily hoppy (resin, pine needles, grapefruit), with a slight touch of alcohol. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/oily texture, average/lively carbonation, very long finish with moderate to heavy bitterness, lightly alcoholic. Extremely pleasant IPA, relatively fresh and with an almost brutal bitterness. Solid.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with white head. Some sweet pine and citrus on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with hop resin.

Hazy golden colour, quite gassy. Aroma of sweet candy sugar and red fruits. Flavour is initially sweet and fruity. Later more resinous, piney hop notes come though.

Nice citrusy hop aroma. Golden color with a white head. Nice rich sweet malt up front. Bitterness is even and smooth. Finishes with a dry bitterness that lingers a bit. Not complex, but a decent IPA.

Köpt på Ölkiosken, Mosebacke. Lukten är svag, saknar fruktigheten här. Smaken är lite likadan, men ändå ok efterbeska. Kroppen bra, kanske lite tunn. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy light orange pour with a creamy beige head, orange and light pine aroma, taste has grapefruit, tangerine, caramel, pine, mango, this IPA has great balance and really smooth mouthfeel. Excellent work.
