COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smuttynose IPA is a physical salute to the glory of the American hop grower. The citrusy hop flavor coming from a mixture of Simcoe and Santiams is pleasantly balanced by a smooth bitterness from the Amarillo hops. The beer itself is light bodied and crisp with a golden color that will throw a slight haze, as we bottle it unfiltered. At 65 IBU’s, this is definitely not a training-wheels IPA, but is meant for hop lovers looking to satisfy their craving in a way that’s not easy to find. We think they’ll be quite pleased.

Screw these jokers for using an alias...fuckers. pours clear gold with a thin white head...good lacing and retention. Aroma has grassy/spicy hops over pils malt...hay. flavor is grassy and piney with mild hop spice...light maltiness. Mouthfeel is full and the finish is bitter and dry. Finest kind my ass.

Bottle. Crisp and earthy IPA. Bitter and fruity at first and later hints of pine. Better than average IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Last time I had this, I thought I must have gotten a spoiled 6-pack. It tasted like ear wax. So, after some time, I tried again. Sorry, but this beer is too bitter (and I generally enjoy IPA’s) and seems to be made with low quality, rusty water. It’s local to me, since I’m in Massachusetts, but 2 bad batches in a row? I don’t think so.

Pours a light to medium amber. Aroma gives off citrus and bitters. Taste matches giving bitter taste up front with medium middle finishes with a bitter after taste. Overall, good IPA that lacks balance but has an amazing citrus taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a fluffy white head. Subtle aroma of bread and grass. Tastes like pine and grass hops and cereal malts. Bitter and pretty good.

Bottle: pours a nice golden color with a decent off white head, and some lovely sticky lacing is left behind. Aroma is like slightly dirty grapefruit. The flavor makes me wonder why it’s rated so high... not that it’s bad, it’s just a little one dimensional to me... bitter. I don’t know... ok beer, but there are better ipas all over. Sorry.

Pours a gold color, aroma of hop and earth, hope my bottle was just off because it has a slight skunk flavor, not to bad overall but much better out there ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hmm, another IPA which I’m blown away by the high scores. The pour is orange with large amounts of sediment floating around and white head that quickly fades into lacing. The aroma is relatively light for a beer this hoppy. The taste is bitter right off the bat and somewhat diminishes at the finish. It’s ok but I don’t see how this is a special IPA.

On tap, pours a really nice golden pale. Not really much on the nose. Mildly hoppy with a nice bite and good balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
