3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours deep amber into a snifter. Pancake head recedes leaving scant spiders to coat surface. Sweet caramel, orange citrus and vanilla aromas. Dry with sweet toffee and caramel upfront turning to citrus before the lasting oak and vanilla finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazed amber with a soft sudsy off-white colored head. A nice boozy-bourbony aroma and slightly syrupy sweet. Moderately sweet with just enough bourbon character to complement without being overwhelming. A nice winter warmer. When tried with a dash of the orange bitters, the aroma and flavor are predictably orangey.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Comes with a small bottle of orange bitters. Clear amber pour, frothy, lacy white head, very pretty. Malty, oaky aroma, lots of orange, grand marnier, vanilla. Quite boozy, sweet and fruity, with a well hopped bitter finish. Chewy palate, sweet with low carbonation. Decent.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a two finger cream head that fades quickly to a ring leaving traces of lace. Almost clear amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Bourbon nose and flavor is heavy with bourbon, but after adding some of the orange bitters (a little nip is included), the bourbon was more mellowed. High ABV is hidden. $8.99 for a 22oz bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, MA.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a dark orange with an off white lacing. The aroma is amazing. It consists of toffee, caramel, vanilla, orange and bourbon. Incredibly complex. The alcohol content and bourbon is perfectly blended in with the other flavors. Not overly sweet.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Julio’s via HopasaurusRex, thanks for the hookup Todd.
Pours a crystal clear orange amber color with a smallish off white head that slowly dissipates to a ring and leaves minimal lace on the sides of the glass. Smells of caramel and brown sugary malts with a huge bourbon soaked vanilla bean coming through. Light sweet citrus fruit aromas, oranges come to mind, as well as a solid shot of ethanol. Sweet dark sugary malt flavor with plenty of orange and vanilla creamsicle flavor. Hints of sweet bourbon, a touch of oak and a solid hit of alcohol round this one out. Medium body with a bit of a dryer finish, moderate level of carbonation with a slick almost bubbly mouthfeel. I love the vanilla and orange playing together in this old ale, but the higher alcohol gets a bit harsh from time to time. Great candidate for some cellar time.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz bottle from (where else) - Julio’s. Poured into a snifter. A gorgeous glowing amber with a light tan head that settles to a thick lace. Malty aroma with strong hints of orange, oak and alcohol. Flavor of sweet malts, oak and orange. ABV hits fast. Very smooth though. Lingering sweet bitter orange flavor. Very good overall.
