tasting on 7/30/10. deep red pour with a 1/4" white head. light bourbon nose with dark fruit notes. medium to big body with sweet malts and dark fruit. some dark cherry coming through the most. more of the same on the finish. overall a tasty beer, but the barrels didn’t shine enough for me.

Not very good at all. A thick and gooey beer that came out with a gusher! I didn’t like the aroma and taste at first, so I gave this the benefit of the doubt and let it warm up a bit. Still no good. The aroma is of fresh leather. The flavor is sweet, dark and mysterious. Heavy body. This brew goes nowhere for me.

A damn fine beer, I would drink it until my liver gave way. Nothing offensive at all, just beer bliss. Would get again fo sho. Really surprised me, The base beer really shines through, loads of spiciness, great body, not very thin at all, mild barrel flavor, really an outstanding beer.

22oz bottle pours a transparent, copper amber with a thin, creamy beige head. Smells like cherries, vanilla, wood pulp, butterscotch. Flavor is caramel, milk chocolate, vanilla, wood, malts. Finish is a touch hot and a touch astringent.

Cloudy copper with a small off white head. Some cinnamon, clove and a touch of nutmeg. Faint rye notes with light herbal hops. Lingering mouth feel.

Thanks kiefdog for the share. Pours opaque copper amber with a tan head. Nose is orange, sugar, rye, whiskey, vanilla, bourbon, caramel, and slight grain. Flavor is similar with lots of bourbon, vanilla, whiskey, caramel, rye, and sweetness. Very unique, barreled rye beer. Medium body with lingering bourbon and vanilla. Extremely palatable for a rye beer.

22 oz bottle. Pours a ruddy opaque mahogany with a 1/2" beige head. Aroma is a rich blend of rye whiskey, wet oak, earth, dark fruit and malt. Palate is thick, heavy and sticky. Also, quite warming. Pour this baby into a snifter, then just lean back, relax, and enjoy. Flavor is dominated by bourbon flavors, but nicely blended with a malt and fruit and even some candy hints. Very well done.
