22oz capped, thanks Alex. Clear amber brown with eggshell white head. Malty, apple, caramel, fig newtons, lighty boozey and some phenols. Bready tart apples and raisins, white grapes, creamy smooth body with some tobacco notes on the end. Well made and enjoyable until it warms when the booze pops out.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
One of the most interesting beers Ive ever had, smells and tastes like liquid gold butter. Definitely one to share however, as a single bomber might be a little too much for one person. I got a little sick of it after awhile, the last 1/2 pint was a chore. One of those tastes that is so delicious right off the bat and is really good, but then starts to get annoyingly sweet. Very smooth and thick, I dont think the head dissipated at all through the entire process. Really good one to share, and enjoy with a few other people.

Hey now buttery bourbon! Tons of butter, bourbon, caramel, vanilla, and a spiciness.
Taste is slightly spicy, bourbon, butter, vanilla, and caramel.
Finish is sweet, cloying, and butter.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from 22oz bottle. Pours a murky chestnut brown with a finger of beige head. Aroma is some bourbon a bit of rye and maybe just a touch of vanilla. Taste follows the nose. Good beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I believe this is a 2011 bottle.
Aroma is nice and complex with lots of sweet malt character balanced by bourbon barrel notes. Lots of dark caramel with a hint of chocolate and roast. Quite a bit of rye spice present as well along with some toasted bread. Some fruitiness is also present with prunes and raisins. Some burnt sugar is also present. Light bourbon, oak and vanilla.
Pours a burnt amber with some light brown highlights, but on the whole the beer tends towards red more than brown. Very thin light tan head that quickly recedes to the edges. Light lacing.
Flavor is very similar to aroma but with an lot more bourbon character. There is a lot of sweet fruit notes upfront with prune, raisin and fig. There is quite a bit of malt character as well with dark caramel, roast, caramelized sugar and toffee. Light burnt toast notes. Mid to late palate you get a lot of barrel character with a lot of bourbon, oak and vanilla. Light rye spice and some alcohol heat finish out the flavor. Fairly low bitterness, this definitely is on then sweet side.
Mouth feel is medium to medium full bodied with medium low carbonation. Astringency is low to medium low and alcohol warmth is medium low. Its a very sweet beer but it isn’t sticky like you would expect considering the sweetness.
Overall a very nice, complex beer with good fruit and malt character. The bourbon barrels are well integrated in the aroma but a bit strong in the flavor. The beer is on the sweet side, too much so.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
22 oz bottle, Pour dark brown with some red highlights and a nice off white head. Moderate lacing in my De Dolle tulip. Aroma is amazing. Some herbs, bourbon, fresh rye bread, caramel and a hint of vanilla. Full bodied for a rye ale with just the right amount of carbonation. Smooth and very well balanced. Amazing beer. Going to get more.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Coppery colored and a bit hazy, with a great head and fair lacing. Looked good in the glass. Smelled like a barleywine to me, great pungent rye and caramel malts, accented with a touch of funk. Tasted very nice, again like a barleywine (almost). Bitter hops accents a great caramel malt base with a nice rye flavor and a little bit of nice bourbon barrel accent. I like the fact that the barrel aging is notable but not overpowering. This beer went down really easy. The body was wonderfully full yet totally easy to drink.

Bomber pour into snifter..darkish crimson red like color..slight head rests on top..pretty active carbonation..nice looking beer..intrigued from the start..aroma is pleasing consisting of bourbon..vanilla..cream soda..wow..complex nose..mouthfeel is very good on this..smooth..creamy..silky texture..slight alcohol warmth on finish..palate has most of the same flavor as the nose with perhaps a touch of molasses and brown sugar..gets even better as it warms..this is a fine offering and a really good sipper on a winter evening...one of the better less than 10 percent abv barrel aged beers..very impressed with this..wish i had picked up a few more bottles of this from julios..hard to not like this unless you really dislike bourbon aged stuff..very good..
