Bottle shared by Sean at the 2010 Summer Solstice. Poured a cloudy amber brown with an off-white head that dissipated quickly to the edge. Aroma had notes of sweet bread, caramel and rye. Flavor was similar with the rye being more of an undertone and caramel being to more present note.

Bottle shared at a tasting by someone in the local BA group. Pours a great clear dark reddish-brown color with an off-white head and good retention. Aroma is rye, caramel, fruity notes, and mild bourbon. Flavor is slightly sweet, caramel and toffee malt, rye, vanilla, oak, and bourbon. More oak than bourbon. Palate is decent. Medium-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Pretty good beer overall.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruit and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a dry finish.

Malty rye red ale base beer. The beer is a bit overshadowed by the barelling. The main taste is bourbon, vanilla, caramel and its quite nice. Its not overpowering but the base beer is a bit underwhelming. Loved the barrels they used for this but cant say i loved the beer.

Bottle at a tasting. Reddish brown pour with some light tan head. Aroma full of spice, bourbon, some sweet caramel and of course rye, alcoholic tones apparent. Flavor has some sweeter tones, vanilla and caramel, bourbon, spice and rye tones.

Bottle sample at Julios (Both 2010 and 2011 version). Pours a deep brown color with minimal head. The flavor is malty sweet with a syrupy, sticky mouth feel. The 2011 tasted younger, like the flavors hadn’t mellowed yet. The 2010 was a bit mellower and a little less sticky. OK overall.
