Well not really, but tit’s in there somewhere. This is great fun, very pleasing and will make you not want to share the bomber with anyone else.Flavor disspates quickly, tho. Pours a cloudy orange color with a few chunks and a chunky head. Aroma of grain, light sweet malt, and grassy and citrus hops. Flavor of malt, earth yeast and a good hoppy finish. Wow, I really enjoyed this brew. Thanks Josh! haddon90 (1044), Alexandria, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2009 Hazy orange pour with a nice, white head. Nice hops spring from the aroma. Citrusy taste, with some light hops involved. Lighter then I expected, but it tastes really, really good. This is definitely a beer I could drink a lot of. Very good balance. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 20, 2009 The aroma has creamed corn, fruit, and citrus hops. The appearance is nice with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin but smooth. Overall a drinkable beer but it has problems. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 19, 2009 Bottle. Sweet malty aroma. Beautiful golden body, nice sized white head. Taste is surprisingly mild. Lightly toasty, some caramel and fruit, not overly sweet. Sweetness, although fortunately never cloying, develops a little more in the finish, along with a touch of bitterness. I was looking forward with great anticipation to this Smuttynose offering, but honestly it left me just a tad disappointed. redlight (1510), Winter Park, Florida, USA

Sweet malts on the nose, sweet bread, traces of spicy hops in the nose. Pours a cloudy golden color with a thick white head. Smooth malty flavor with a lot of spicy notes, finishes somewhat crisp (could have a little more bit in the end). A little bit too heavy for a maibock in my opinion but still a solid beer. rajendra82 (707), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 15, 2009 The bomber was artfully labeled, evoking memories of renaissance era Europe. The beer came out golden deep yellow with a good stream of carbonation, but a small to nonexistent head. The smell was malty and yeasty, with some floral hops. The taste is where it all came together, as the malts, hops, and yeast proved to be in great balance. The honey like sweetness was pitted against an earthy and drying yeast flavor and spiced up with restrained but noticeable noble hops. The mouthfeel was a lot fuller than most of the Maibocks I’ve ever had, but it was not so full that it went out of style and became a Dopplebock. The carbonation was quite evident in the mouth. This was a wonderfully drinkable beer without having to be watered down.
