COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Old Brown Dog has been cited as a classic example of the "American Brown Ale" style of beer. Compared to a typical English Brown Ale, Old Brown Dog is fuller-bodied and more strongly hopped.

Pretty strong for a brown ale. The flavor is nutty with medium bitterness, light sweetness and some toast. Full-bodied.

I do not taste the 6.7% at all, hide it well. Thin with mild sweet cream predominating. Goes down easy, but leaves hardly a trace. A good one to have mowing the lawn. Extra points for appearance, beautiful golden brown with long lasting creamy head.

Bottle from the grocery store. Pours transparent amber with a thin layer of off white head. Aroma of malts and nuts. Taste pretty much the same.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2014 355 ml bottle in Margate, FL. Pours caramel in color with an off white foam head. Toffee notes in aroma along with hints of fruit and sugar. Blast of sweet maltiness at first taste, followed by clear citrus and fruity hop notes, slight hint of alcohol. Creamy body that lingers with sweetness. Noticed more fruit character as I drank more in the palate..

Translucent brown and quite effervescent and heady for this style of beer. Nice caramel and malty flavors. Pretty tasty if unspectacular beer.

Reddish brown color with off white head. Sweet malty aroma and flavor. Sweet in the finish, but well balanced. A very nice brown ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
