2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Wakie (612) - Centreville, Virginia, USA - DEC 12, 2002
Lightly hoppy yet very enjoyable. Amber colored with a relatively heavy alcohol taste. A small off taste of something which is reminiscent of chlorine. Hmmm ... till a decent beer. Especially when following something as strong as Dogfish World Wide Stout.

Nice sweet malty aroma. Seems like they should have gone either way with the carbonation. Could use a little more or a little less. Greater hopping makes this more flavorful than other brown ales.

Rich texture. Dark colour. Low carbonation and head. Almost a smoky flavour. As described fuller-bodied and evenly hopped.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 pivo (2540) - GERMANY - DEC 5, 2002
Sweet malt nose, red-brown color and a tight-bubble head. Maple syrup flavors, also brown sugar and maybe prunes. Thin-ish to my palette. Interesting qualities, but not so well balanced.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 YogiBeera (2435) - Hamburg, GERMANY - DEC 4, 2002
Cherry alcohol nose. Dark red color with a little head. Nice nutty and malty flavor. Crisp refreshing finish.

I got this one for the lable. And I actually turned out nice. It is a well balanced beer red in colour A bit on the sweet side. It sat well in my mouth like a well behaved dog. I don’t think I’d be rolling head over heals for this one but it was okay. The appearance did nothing for me.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ravidesai (937) - Bombay, INDIA - NOV 8, 2002
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2006 very nice brown ale.
well balanced.
reddish brown color, not much head.
complex sweet aroma - milk chocolate and nuts dominate the more earthy elements.
taste is initially all sweet malt but it develops a substantial hop character ending on a slightly tangy fruit note.
I’m beginning to think this is a very under appreciated brewery
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 SimonPatrice (312) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 29, 2002
Amber, not much head. Toffee and raisins aroma. Malty toffee flavors mixed with some bitterness. Not that well-balanced. My bottle was 5 months old so maybe a fresher one would be better as Volgon suggests.

This poured with almost no head, deep redish/brown color and little nose. Sweet, almost sherry-like flavors. A little thin in body. Not very interesting to me.
