Brown color. Medium head. Aroma is nutty, fruity and sweet. Medium bodied brown ale. Malts are nutty and sweet. Hops are spicy and slightly bitter. A very nutty brown ale. The nuttiness and sweetness of the malts is almost overpowering. Smooth taste. Very nice, but a bit too sweet. Still very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and nutty.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very hoppy aroma for a brown ale with a touch of nuts. Light brown in color and minimal head. Nice malt flavor, a bit of caramel plus roasted nuts. Tight butterscotch finish. Nice beer and a good brown.

Now this is a beer I could drink on it's own. I can smell the malt and the hops, but more importantly, I'm getting better at distictly separating the differnt aromas and flavors. At first I couldn't locate the malty flavor, but after a few minutes I came back and there it was! I'm so happy. The hoppy flavor comes to this party, but doesn't try to be the life of it. I liked this one.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This one was a good recovery beer for me after the Shoals pale ale. Good weak coffee color, thin head, nice middle of the road aroma, malt, hops, and a nuttiness. Similar flavors that are smooth and mild. Not too bitter (this is important to me) easy to drink. A good to share with conversation.

Pretty good. Has a nice chestnut-brown (more like a chocolate lab than a weimrhiner) color. Flavor is slightly sweet with mellow malt and a subtle zest of a wang. However, there is a chalky aftertaste that I found a bit unsettling, but this seems par for the course with brown ales.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark red/brown body, with a thin white head. Aroma is slightly nutty and sweet. Flavor becomes more interesting as the beer warms, and is characterized by toasty, sweet malts. Borders on the "twig and berry" tastes common to Scottish Ales. Medium body.

Hoppy, nutty nose, reddish body, small tan head. Sweet malt nicely balanced with hops and nutty flavors.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reddish brown color, just like the dog on the bottle. Barely any head, just an odd bubble here and there. Smells of mild hops, apple cider and cinnamon. Taste caught me by surprise: chocolate malt/coffee palate after smelling fruit. Weird. Aftertaste is grapefruit-hoppy, turning watery with hints of alcohol.

Cool label. i don't like dogs much but this works very well. The beer's cool too. brownish color (duh) with virtually no head. Malty aroma that continues deeply in the flavor.

Light brown/orange. Little head, no lace. Nose of malted barley, slight caramel, hint of chocolate and hope. Nice medium body, lots of malted barley character and zingy hops. Dry lasting finish. A decent brown, I had a little too cold I think so it deserves a re-rate one day.
