Pours brown with a bit of white head. Smell is slight maltiness, but sweet, but very weak. Palate is on the lighter side of medium bodied with average carbonation. Taste is sweet, then slightly nutty/roasty, though still sweet throughout. Too sweet, needs more roast.

355 ml bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours amberish brown with a rather small beige head that quickly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, tiny sour, malty and tiny fruity with bread, lemon juice, dried tropical fruits, biscuits, moist leaves, red apples and hints of compost, glue and banana. Taste is sweet, very tiny sour, slightly malty and tiny fruity with bread, biscuits, wood, moist leaves, orange zest, caramel, red apples, lemon zest, oatmeal cookies and hints of glue. Mouthfeel is round, tiny clogging, tiny astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with bread, wood, pine needles, orange peal, caramel, apple skins and leon peal.

On tap @ Three Penny taproom. Deep amber with a small off-white head and almost no lacing. Aroma is of caramel, dark fruits and malt. Taste is about the same with a slight spicy finish and slight bitterness. Medium body. Ok Brown Ale, but easily forgotten.

Bottle. Pours copper/brown with a big white head. Very pretty. Aroma is a little off. A touch of the requisite nuttiness is present but the aroma is dominated by seemingly pale malts, which doesn't quite add up. Nutty/toasty notes up front in the taste, but the finish is more lager-like. Some citrus appears from the hops. Solid carb. All in all a little messy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Best by 7/17/13. Consumed 4/7/13. Pours a translucent amber with a thin, fast to fade off-white head. Aroma is fruit, vanilla, grass, bread, hint of chocolate, caramel. Taste is sweet, caramel, grass, earthy, fruit, yeast, bread; very subtle dark chocolate finish. Little lacing. Medium carbonation; a bit high. Mouth feel is chewy. Little complexity. The flavor profile is nice but not highly expressive. Good beer. Not full-flavored enough to be a great beer.

Bottle. Brownish beer with a slight reddish tinge, the head is fairly strong. The aroma is roasted with some degree of chocolatyness, and the flavour is roasted with a small amount of bitterness and large amounts of fruity maltyness. Overall a reasonable beer, nothing spectacular. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
