Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Nov 11, 2001 Updated: Jun 24, 2008New rating: On tap at Portsmouth Brewing. Bright golden colour with a malt-accented nose. Slight spiciness but more malt as well. Rounded, full, malty character is very clean and well-balanced.
Old rating: You have to love Smokeless Joe for bringing in anything he can get his hands on, including the Smutty range. Portsmouth Lager has a caramel-like colour, a touch of smoke, dried peaches and white grapes in the nose a rich sweetness in the caramelly malt palate. 7 3 6 3 13 is equal to 3.2 kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 04/21/2007

argo0 (6167), Washington DC, USA Mar 26, 2003 Clear amber body with small beige head. Aroma is strongly hoppy -- floral and German hops. Taste is slightly sweet up front, before turning to a decent German hop bitterness that lasts beyond the swallow. CaptainCougar (4633), Rockville, Maryland, USA Aug 31, 2003 Pours a clear dark golden with a large puffy and nicely lacing head. Dry malty aroma leads into a smooth crisp body. This beer kinda borders on being a decent micro and having too many American standard characteristics. hopdog (4552), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 4, 2005 Poured a dark amber colorw with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of bread, fruit, and some flowers. Tastes of nuts, bread, fruit and citrus. A little salty as well.
