Nose is right out of Grandma’s kitchen when she was baking a fresh pumpkin pie. Well almost, but loads of spices clove for sure and maybe pumpkin, but tastes very nice. This is a very nice Pumpkin brew. VVilliam (50), USA

Smell of crisp pumpkin and spice. The beer was very hoppy with a light spice aftertaste. As the beer warmed, the pumpkin and fruit flavor became more apparent. Average body with a light burn. Overall an average beer. festyzizzle (30), Brooklyn, New York, USA

Good stuff. kuchen (7), Brooklyn, New York, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2006 Updated: Feb 26, 2008I had not enjoyed the pumpkin ales that I tried before this, but something in the air prompted me to pick this one up. As soon as I opened the bottle I was intrigued. A pumpkin pie spice aroma is very prominent. I was afraid the taste would be too sweet, but it actually had the subtlety of fresh natural pumpkin. Most important, though, was the strong balance of pumpkin and hops. I couldn’t get enough of this. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Decent aroma… pumpkin spice, something that seems like wet crisp hops.
Taste is okay… crisp yeasty pumpkin with some faint sweet caramelly malts. Almost a bittering spicy hop presence too that dries it out a bit.
At least my glass caught a fruit fly.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 22, 2006 From a bottle purchased in Madison, WI. The body is medium orange with a white head on top. The aroma was spicy nutmeg and pumpkin with a little bit of sweet cigar tobacco. The taste had a fairly strong nutmeg presence with only hints of pumpkin in the background. There was also a little bit of toabcco. An interesting and earthy, spicy pumpkin ale. beerbill (1943), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 21, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy golden brown with a thin, nearly white head that disappeared after a few sips. Pleasant aroma of pumpkin and caramel. Very little spice noted in the aroma. The irony is I found the flavor to be the exact opposite. Heavy cinnamon in the flavor and very little pumpkin. Dry, hoppy finish. A bit better than average, but still behind Weyerbacher and SPH.
