Nose of sweet pumpkin, nutmeg, clove, and pepper balanced nicely with light malt and hops. Flavor was well balanced, not too much spice, with a nice crisp finish. A little light in body, but overall a tasty seasonal treat. I don’t take pumpkin ales to task like some; they’re kitschy, but that’s part of the fun. Drank this while carving a vampire pumpkin. What’s not to love? fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of light pumpkin, pepper spice, clove. Light flavor of spice, clove, pumpkin, malt and hop. Smooth palate. One of the lighter pumpkin beers I’ve had. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 28, 2005 For some reason, I’m a sucker for seasonals like pumpkin beer. This one tasted like...pumpkin pie with a kick. Isn’t that what it’s suppopsed to taste like? Nice head, good body and the aroma, well, what can I say? Much, much better than my own homebrew attempt at pumpkin ale several years ago, which gained the nickname "Old Adhesive Tape." Ron (1011), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 23, 2005 One bottle from BOTW. Copper in color with a small white head. Cinnamon aroma. Not much pumpkin flavor in the palate with a hop finish was slightly bitter. I liked the Saranac Pumpkin ale much better. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 22, 2005 12oz. bottle. Hazy orange/amber color with a small white head. Sweet, spicy aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
Bitter hop flavor surprised me on first sip as I didn’t detect any hops in the aroma. This was followed by the aforementioned sweet baking spices. Not bad, but I’m really not high on pumpkin beers. Cletus (5052), Connecticut, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Oct 16, 2005 Updated: Nov 30, 2005not a bad beer, but has an unnatural soapy floral taste. This is mostly apparent on the finish. weakly bittersweet. tastes like it’s brewed with quality ingredients, but didn’t come out quite right. Perhaps if pumpkins were a flower, this would be a decent pumpkin ale. (Hint: try the weyerbacher pumpkin ale!)
