Lasting white head covers the shiny hazy orange hue. Huge gingerbread nose, not necessarily very malty despite Smuttynose being champions at that, just very perfumey, spicy, peppery and cinnamon indented with light mustard seeds. Oily medium body, small bubbled carbonation. Average balance, very spicy and incredibly simplistic, devoid of bitterness.

Bottle. Orange/amber, decent head. Spicy, pumpkin aroma. Maltiness and pumpkins upfront with a spicy finish. Moderate bitterness. Good flavor. Aftertaste makes you go back for more.

Bottle. Bright orange copper body with a small white head. Sweet, spicy pumpkin pie aroma and taste. Nice.

Pours bright deep orange with a tiny head. Aroma is slightly pumpkin spice. Taste is watery at first but great pumpkin spice on the finish. Awesome subtle pumpkin taste. Well done.

Translucent orange and filtered (why filter this one while every other beer of yours is unfiltered, Smuttynose?) with a bubbly and stringy head. Aroma is ripe with pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, hints of orange rind and an overall pervasive sugar complex reminiscent of pumpkin pie. A lot happens at first quaff. Once the sprits dies down, we’re left with delectable pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice. Nutmeg adds a spice bread dimension. Some separating and dactylic alcohol. Fairly light bodied with the hops being a touch to hot at times, and no anteceding creaminess. On the other hand, this has one of the best aftertastes known to man. A noble effort. Pours golden orange with a big white head. Some lace evident. Smell is spicy. Coriander, cinnamon, clove and pumpkin. Sweet hoppy aromas too. Taste is spicy as well. Sweet maly up front with a bitter finish. Cinnamon and pumpkin flavors witha hoppy aftertaste. Medium bodied. This is a really solid ale and the best pumpkin ale I’ve ever had. not a big fan of the style but this is one I could drink with no problem.

Hazy orange color with a thin foamy white head on top. Pumpkin pie spices in the aroma, nutmeg and cinammon. More nutmeg and cinammon in the taste. Pretty much your typical pumpking beer. Not outstanding, but not horrible.

(12 oz bottle, obtained in trade with Eyedrinkale, thanks Mike!) Whoa, this is a very fruity smelling beer. It smells like a fruity IPA, orange citrus mostly, sweet, floral. I can detect some spiciness in the nose, but just barely. Actually, it has that sweet, pungent, but strangely pleasant aroma of an orange that has begun to rot, like walking by someone’s house with an orange tree, and the ground is covered with oranges in various states of decay. And the flavor is also quite fruity, citrusy hoppy, sweet, lightly malty, and definitely spicy. Moderate bitterness right from the start, but especially in the finish, and combined with the spices, the finish isn’t as enjoyable. The spices are clearly evident, but seem to complement the citrusy flavor rather than take center stage like many pumpkin beers. Good solid mouthfeel, not watery at all, nice coating sensation on the palate, and a rather cleansing acidity in the finish. Apricot in color and fully hazy. You can’t see through this beer at all. Pours an inch thick head that is eggshell white in color. It slowly settles to a thin, but complete blanket over the beer, and leaves a fairly dense curtain of lace on the glass. This is an enjoyable beer, but unusually fruity and citrusy for the style.
