WeeHeavySD (2942), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Dec 22, 2008 Tap at matchbox in Washington DC. Pours orange tan ring light pump spice nose pumpkin spice taste ok AMN (127), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 1, 2008 Poured with a sizable white head. The flavor is dominated by pumpkin and is on the bitter side. Interesting, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink this again. craftycarl21 (513), South Hero, Vermont, USA Nov 26, 2008 Pours an orange copper with a very small head and noticeably high level of carbonation. Aroma heavy with spice, yeast, mustiness, and some sour malt. Flavor is interesting- not too sweet like most autumn based ales, but almost on the bitter side. Not particularly pleasant, but certainly unique and curious. The spice makes it more palatable, but this is one of Smutty’s stranger creations. Not bad, but no where near the top of the list coming from their brewery. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 2, 2008 Courtesy of Sea Bass. Pours deep gold with copper core and thin white head. The aroma is sweetness, pumpkin, faint spices and Belgian candi sugar. The taste is big sweetness bringing up pumpkin notes, mild spices, sugar sweet malts, a moderate level of spicy hop ting and some fruity esters. Pretty good brew. epf33 (222), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Nov 1, 2008 aroma is of a pumpkin pie, dark golden color, the hops overpower the taste of the pumpkin spice though djones (116), Michigan, USA Oct 25, 2008 Hazy copper orange. Hoppy with faint pumpkin and spice flavors. Good carbonation medium bodied. Not all that exciting to me, however. No flavor really jumps out. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 22, 2008 Courtesy of damienblack.
Pours orange, white head.
Aroma, lots of pumpkin and spices.
Taste of pumpkin with cinnamon in aftertaste.
Hoppy with enough spices, leaves a lingering thick / metalic mouthfeel.
fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Oct 22, 2008 Bottle courtesy of sebletitje. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma of pumpkin spice and sweet malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Decent.
