Pours orange, white head.
Aroma, lots of pumpkin and spices.
Taste of pumpkin with cinnamon in aftertaste.
Hoppy with enough spices, leaves a lingering thick / metalic mouthfeel.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 21, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy golden brown with a thin, nearly white head that disappeared after a few sips. Pleasant aroma of pumpkin and caramel. Very little spice noted in the aroma. The irony is I found the flavor to be the exact opposite. Heavy cinnamon in the flavor and very little pumpkin. Dry, hoppy finish. A bit better than average, but still behind Weyerbacher and SPH. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is very spicy, I get the aroma of freshly grated ginger, and nutmeg in the aroma. taste is light pumpkin, malt, and lots of spices. Spices and pumpkin seem to compliment rather than dominate this beer, very good. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2006 bottle-pours peach/orange with a sudsy white head around the rim of the glass. big spicy nose with notes of opened pumpkin, veggie, and cinnamon. nice nose! comples flavors for the style-afformentioned spices, pumpkin, other cooked veggies, light grainy malts and some earthy hop notes with a touch of shoveled earth. pretty complex as most smuttynose beers tend to be. body is nice and crisp. definately a pumpkin i could drink alot of. smuttynose has not dissapointed me yet! scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2004 Hazy amber, fizzy white head. Full of autumn scents like pumpkin pie, crust and all (imagine that), cinnamon and spice, with a slight hint of pepper. Flavor matches aroma, is well balanced, and never becomes overbearing. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, crisp dry finish. Very drinkable and one of the better pumpkin ales out there. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 4, 2008 A mighty tastey brew! Pours a nice golden colour with a finger nail sized head. Aroma is very reminiscent of a fresh baked pumpkin pie, Wonderful garden taste and pumpkin spice all around. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Nov 19, 2003 One day, I will accept the fact that I'll never find a pumpkin beer I particularly care for. Until then, I'll continue to slander and insult every crappy pumpkin ale I come across. Cloudy orange. Nose is not pumpkin, just an odd scent. Tastes like pumpkin with an unpleasant, musty, sour garbage-like quality to it. Is somewhat hoppy, but that just adds some bitterness to one end of the less-than-pleasant beer equation. I believe the word we're looking for is "bad", even for a pumpkin ale. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

Hazy orange with a moderate head, solid lacing and retention. Aroma is usual spices and pumpkin notes. Medium to light body with a watery texture. A solid example, but not memorable.
