| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 8, 2007 this beer should be called -pumpkin spice generic mouthwash- it is mildly dissapointing because 1- they make damn good beers 2- the hanami fiasco makes the possibility mild. disingenuine in taste - not creative in balance body or carbonation. but hey, you guys win a lot and i don’t hold it against you! i only bought one bottle. jredmond (1081), New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2007 Mushroomy aroma of nutmeg and coriander.Cloudy amber with a thin off-white head, nice lacing. Quite strong, decently balanced, and tastes of nutmeg and pumpkin with a nice tang. Orange peel and grain finish. This just about maxes out what I’m willing to rate a pumpkin ale. There’s room for growth, but I can’t see rating any pumpkin ale much higher than this. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2005 Pours a light hazy orange with little head. Aroma of sweet pumpkin pie, cinnamon, nutmeg, and other spices. Flavor is hoppy, maybe too much, with some pumpkin notes and lots of cinnamon. Finishes sour and tart. Could have been better. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 12, 2003 12 oz. brown bottle. No freshness date, which is par for the course for Smuttynose. I guess they don't want anyone to know they sell stale beer. Anyway, it poured out a bright copper color, with no head at all. Overpowering spices made for a nasty tasting beer in my book. I couldn't even finish it, it was so horrid. I won't be buying this swill ever again. jb (1063), Rochester, New York, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 14, 2009 Updated: Oct 26, 2009Location: 12 oz bottle from jcos, 10/26/09, another old rating that needed an updating (Original rating was a 2.7)
Aroma: The aroma is fairly mild, its got pumpkin spice, and malts, not much else
Appearance: The look of this one is a nice hazy golden-orange with a nice white head
Flavor: Decent, but not great, flavor of pumpkin spice malts, but also something that is just a touch off
Palate: There’s a decent amount of body on this one, and a highly carbonated mouthfeel
Overall Impression:
This is a decent pumpkin beer, I’m not sure why I had it rated so low before, but it really deserved to be higher then it was. This score is now more of an accurate depiction of my real impression of this beer.
