ericnixon (712), Lenox, Massachusetts, USA May 28, 2007 Big bottle. Dark brown color with a light brown around the edges of the glass. The aroma was big, sweet, and fruity mixed in with an earthy tang. Slightly fizzy mouthfeel that left a mild danciness on my tongue and in my mouth long after the beer went down. Big roasted malt taste with a fruity tinge. Good stuff!
SpringsLicker (1846), Tennessee, USA Oct 20, 2008 Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing this one.
Starts with a tall off-white head over a clear dark brown body.
Malty alcohol aroma.
Nutty sweet with a touch of bitterness from the hops for balance.
Decent beer. BeerHawk (801), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Sep 30, 2008 2007 Bottle shared by decaturstevo. Poured brown with an off-white head that left good lace. A little iced tea aroma at first but settles out to milk chocolate, nut, and a slight hop background. The flavor has caramel, brown sugar, and a hint of fruits. Medium body. Enjoyable! carl4beer (294), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA Sep 5, 2008 22oz. pours a hazy dark copper with small head. aroma is caramel, nuttiness, and a little sweet. mouthful is dried fruit, nut, with some bitterness in the finish. frylock (952), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 8, 2008 Caramel, toasted malts and a slight smokiness come through in the aroma. Orange-brown color beneath a thin head. Flavor is full of toasty and nutty malts. A light hop presence balances the malts with some cocoa flavors in the finish.
