3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber purchased at Holiday Wine Cellar ($6.99). Pours a darker amber hue with two full fingers of white foam. AROMA bready (rye) malts, spicy hops, sourish and musty grains, and light citrus. FLAVOR has a nice spicy rye punch right off the bat, followed by notes of herbal hops, sharp citrus, and some caramel malts. Finishes somewhat dry with continued rye spiciness and moderate bitterness. I like that this has really big and noticeable rye, unlike some other RyePA’s out there. Very quaffable. (167, 857)

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Associated Supermarket, Bushwick bomber ($4): Pours light reddish with an off-white head. Aroma is citrus, rye, and grass. Taste is aggressively hoppy all throughout. Rye malt backbone gives this an interesting kick throughout. Very easy to drink, but very flavorful. My girlfriend and I destroyed two bombers in less than 30 minutes.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Fairly light-colored pour, golden/amber, slightly hazy. Firm pillow-top of a head. The aroma is a little musty ... maybe even a hint at wild fermentation? The beer drinks with a bit of grit, an interesting rye twist predominates. There’s definitely a full-on American hop sting riding the wavetops. I can drink this in great volumes. (#5476, 3/28/2014)

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from Woodmans in the Falls. Pours a clear orange with a foamy white head leaving a lot of spongy lacing. Aroma has pine, citrus, and some bread. Taste is of sweet rye, tangy pine needles, some lemon and faintly some biscuity malts. Very dry and quite sweet. Medium bodied with a tinge of alcohol. Finishes to the sweet side of bittersweet, with length, and bone dry. Not the hoppiest brew, but between the pine and the rye, possibly the driest.
