Our Rhye IPA bulls its way into our lineup because we love really hoppy beers and were looking for an opportunity to play with rye malt and add a boatload of hops. Would rhino enjoy the big flavor? We don’t know, but let us know if you find out.

Scopey (6651) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2014
Bottle at Yespr’s. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is fresh, grassy, floral, light spice and some citrus peel. The taste is crisp, bitter, spice, hay, straw, earthiness, sherbet, grass, pepper and a touch of alcohol with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Crisp, rounded and very drinkable stuff.

Bomber bottle: Pours a deep golden hue with a big fluffly head and excellent lacing. The aroma has notes of citric and tropical hop esters, slight pine, light rye and biscuit along with a dash of caramel and pepper. The taste is moderately aggressive with the bitterness with a slight metallic and band-aid undertone slightly balanced by grainy malts. The rye is found towards the finish and is kinda harshing my mellow. This was some nice notes but overall seems to clash, the mouth feel and finish needed to be cleaner and/or the hop profile even more fruity..

Okay, quite smooth and heavy IPA.

650 ml bottle.
Pours a dark orange colour with a copper hue. Nice lacing. Aroma of citrusy hoppiness, some honey-like notes and caramel. Quite rich flavour of strong citrusy bitterness, mild caramel sweetness, resin, very mild bready maltiness, pineapple, orange peel and herbal grassy notes. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and a rich, dry, mildly bready finish. Lingering bitter finish. Lovely refreshing IPA without too much rye.
