COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Rhye IPA bulls its way into our lineup because we love really hoppy beers and were looking for an opportunity to play with rye malt and add a boatload of hops. Would rhino enjoy the big flavor? We donít know, but let us know if you find out.

Draft. Nice pour, robust head. Not much to the aroma. Notes of citrus, rye, hops. An overall good rye IPA.

First of all, fucking awesome. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a decent khaki head that settles to a thick ring and film, leaving spots and strings of intricate lace. Nose involves black pepper, sweet ripe peach and apricot, orange and grapefruit citrus, some fig and sweet dried fruit notes, and some crusty bread. Fairly sweet, quite bitter. Medium bodied, oily, decent action, with a long fruity and drying herbal spicy bitter finish. One of the best IPAs Iíve had in a while. Great balance, lots of character, does everything well. And rye is always welcome in my IPAs.

pineypower (2635) - Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA - MAR 18, 2015
Pours out a cloudy copper color with a moderate off white head. aroma is of sweet caramel, sticky syrup, grains, some mild floral notes, slight touch of rye with some more borderline cloying sweetness. Taste improves on hop front, citrus, lemon, orange peel, oil, some toast, spicy rye malts caramel, and some lingering bitterness.

Bottle @ NYC Craft Beer Festival. Cloudy orange with small off-white foamy head, floral hops aroma, low carbonation, balanced hoppy rye taste, longish finish. Nice

Aroma of warm wort. Flavor is sweet chewy, earthy, and soicy. Caramel, peanut husks. Very good, deep flavor but very simple.

12 oz bottle. resin and grass aroma. Pours orange, amber, cloudy with white foam and minimal head. Medium bitterness, full body, creamy palate and average carbonation, long finish. Hard to pick out the rye from the hops, but doesnít matter, this is a fine New England IPA.

12oz bottle. WIll return to tasting notes later. Currently: It tastes like a delicious rye IPA.

Bottle. Pungent hops, citrus, pepper, pine, and caramel. Hazy copper color. Caramel and rye fight it out right from the start, and the caramel wins (sort of), but then pepper and hops surge back in the finish. Medium body, a bit prickly. Nice stuff. But I donít need another.

Bottle opened for a free taste at the source. They even gave me a water to clear my palate after the Shebang. What a nice, friendly operation. Pours dark copper with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, grapefruit and pine. Tastes like it smells, caramel up front, then grapefruit and pine hop. Only a hint of spice from the rye towards the finish.

dpgjrnhcraftbrew (33) - New Hampshire, USA - MAR 8, 2015
Cloudy golden in color with tropical fruit and citrus coming through the nose. Sort of a dominate grapefruit in flavor with a slight tan head and very minimal lacing. Light and smooth with a creamy feel and no aftertaste and acceptable bitterness. Refreshing and very easy to drink. Poured into IPA glass and relatively fresh. Overall, another fantastic offering from Smuttynose!
