A hearty ebony colored ale that starts with a rich malty palate finished with clean hops and notes of coffee and chocolate.

Extremely flavorful porter, with no detectable flaw. Very drinkable; like it better than Anchor’s, or Sierra’s, which were my previous choices for bottled porters...

Black w/tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, smoke, soy. Palate is dry and a bit chalky,,lots of great roasted malt flavor. A little sour note, but absolutely nothing unpleasant about this porter..Alot of good flavor. Great.

Rich black color with a crimson blood pour, light smoke colored head & lacing. Nose of bittersweet milk chocolate, vanilla beans, tobacco and Worcestershire sauce (minus the salt). The roast level is present but not too astringent. It tastes bitter with the typical roast levels, nothing too unexpected. Has an astringent finish that ends dry. This is a fairly full bodied & complex porter.

On tap. Dark black with a medium size tan head. Rich, roasted malt aroma with hints of coffee and hops. Roasted malt flavor with lots of coffee, chocolate and a dry, hoppy finish.

Robust? I’d say. Bottle. Black. Very black. I poured it and the room got dark. Virtually no head to speak of, just a collection of tan bubbles. Lots of coffee and chocolate in the nose. Very sweet aroma. Some soap (?!) too. First sip ... very roasty. Also, very chocolatey and coffee-y. It finishes a little hoppy and bitter, and dry. Overall, it’s not too bad

Black or dark brown. Big and thick creamy head of tan. Nice lacing. It looks awesome. Aromas of dark malts such as chocolate and roast. Coffee comes out with some bittering hops. There’s some lactose. Flavor is pretty strong on the bitter coffee. It effectively mutes the chocolate presented in the nose. There is a lot more roast present as well. Slightly milky flavors. Creamy mouthfeel. Stickhy and lingering palate with a bitter and roasty finish. This beer surprised me. I had not thought it would be so good. Thanks DYC!

Poured black with a tan head that left thick lacing on the glass. Fruity malt aroma with a slight hint of chocolate. Taste is bitter roasted chocolate with very little sweetness. I found the bitterness to be somewhat unbalanced and unpleasant, but still a good porter.

Brown frothy head atop a black beer. Does not pass the flashlight test but is definitely darker than the style nazis would like. Huge caramel and chocolate aromas with a small hint of grassy hops. Some figiness too. Very full mouthfeel with a lot of sweet dextrins. A big burnt character with enough malty backbone to balance out the dryness of all the black patent. This is a great porter.

I loved this beer! The chocolate aroma and its nutty after swallow was a treat for my palate. I found my favorite porter.

Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of charcoal, coffee, and chocolate. Very nice roasted flavor, with some of that chocolate in the aftertaste. Good stuff.
