Thanks to JCB for this one! Black pour, tan head and some spotty lacing. Roast aroma. thick and dry. Lots of roast and some coffee on the finish. Slightly metallic and a little sticky

Roasted malts and coffee on the nose. More of the same in flavor with a very dry bitterness, with coffee and dark chocolate in the finish. Good brew but a little too dry for me.

Pour is a black with a average tan head. Aroma is a nice mix of roasted malts and coffee. Flavor is more of a bitter dark chocolate with some smoke and black liquorice. Hits all the points of a good porter. Very decent beer that is easy to drink.

Bottle. 12 fl. oz. An opaque, black beer with a fine, dark tan head that quickly dissapates. Aromas of brewed coffee, dark chocolate, raisin, and licorice. Light bodied with a very dry mouthfeel. An overall heavy roasted, bitter flavor with a decent amount of sweetness on the back end.Very tasty, but still leaves me wanting more from this beer.

"From a bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with a thick brown head that laces all the way down the glass. Aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Little thin in the mouthfeel. Flavor is sweet and chocolatey with coffee undertones. A nice bitterness at the finish. A pretty good beer."

Beer of the Month selection: Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. initial pour produced a brown black (and opaque, light did not get through) body topped with a large, dark tan head of foam, which lingered for a bit. Aroma was rich with chocolate and crisp hops notes. Flavor is medium bodied with fair carbonation and moderate bitterness. Coffee flavors linger for quite a bit and coat the surfaces of my mouth with a dryness that I wasn’t expecting. Aftertaste is quite strong and has heavy hops and bitter coffee notes. The hopping of this brew has given it a dryness that I have not found in many porters which have tended to be on the sticky-sweet side. This wasn’t bad at all , and I will continue to enjoy the two remaining bottles from my BOTM selection.

bottle by way of pforei. beautiful dark brown pour with a cocoa colored head. mocha like aroma... coffee, chocolate, cream and a toasted nuttiness (close to candied hazlenuts). sweet smelling but it still has the ’savory’ note that i get in a lot of good porters. the flavor is mostly roasty and chocolate with some sourness and an ashy finish. mocha like aftertaste. rather dry and parching... nice! full bodied, creamy texture and a soft mouth feel. very simple and very tasty...
