3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 misrahi (31) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 18, 201212oz pour from bottle into pint glass. Light cocoa and coffee up front with a lasting coffee finish. Was a little disappointed due to the hype, but overall an above average porter I’d recommend to someone looking for a little more of a kick.

Bottle courtesy of AirForceHops. Earthy roassty malt, chocolate, and creamy mocha aroma. Black brown with a huge tan head, nice lacing. Earthy roasty coffee, chocolate, and light ashy flavor with a roasty bitter finish. Body on the light side of medium, moderate carbonation.

Not much aroma. Decent taste, not too hoppy. (We are not big hop fans.) Good taste but not much aftertaste.

Just the right balance of flavor and body to make it a year-round, every-day porter. Not many can do that. Smoke and roasted malts are there, but not heavy-handed. Finishes dry and pleasantly bitter.

Väldigt svart kropp. Rostig, kan hinta en ytterst lite rökighet. Lite citrus, viss sötma i aroman från alkoholen.

Westmeister’s Birthday Beer Tasting Extravaganza Beer #7. Brought to the tasting by a longtime friend who mostly prefers to drink Miller High Life. All things considered, he chose well. Smells of coffee and chocolate while pouring black with a tan head. Flavor is chocolatey and roasty. Mouthfeel is just a touch oily. Bottle - Westmeister’s House - Cumming, GA

Lovely dark brew. Like a true porter, it’s smooth easy drinking after work. A fabulous everyday beer for those of us who know that dark beers are not simply a winter phenomenon. Good notes of coffee, toastiness, delicious yum yum time.

Bottle. Dark, black. Good milk chocolately vibes. Roasted tones. Body is medium, a bit light for the intensivity on the nose.

Poured into an imperial pint glass it fills in nicely with a light coffee color head on top of an almost black body. Has almost a faint coffee smell mixed with malt. A little too far on the malty side for me (although that’s primarily because the taste associates slightly with soy sauce personally). Other than that it was a full and rich beer which I would have again.
