COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our most award-winning beer, Robust Porter honors the dark, full-bodied ales that were a favorite of dockworkers and warehousemen (hence the name “Porter”) in 19th century London, where the style originated.
It’s a good bet that when Dickens’ Mr. Pickwick sat down for a pint, his beer would have been very similar to our Robust Porter. This smooth, deceptively drinkable beer features an assertive hop profile which accentuates signature flavors of coffee and dark chocolate.

Smuttynose. need I say more? A- poured dark, nearly stout like. little tan head that is gone within a few minutes. S- once again, this is a hard category for me because I don’t really nose very well. but I can whiff some maltyness in there. T- Nice malty taste. I taste some dry malt character, little nuttyness, and I dig it. I knew Smuttynose would do this one right. It seems to me they have an English flavor anyway, so this one seemed to be right on. M- good carbonation, balanced well. D- not a heavy beer. I could drink more! -Bye

33cl bottle. Black with medium head. Aroma is freshly brewed coffee beans, concentrated dry milk, toffee, black chocolate. All very intensive. Creamy and fluffy mouth feel. THe beer is well balanced with dominating flavour of black chocolate. Sweet on the beginning but it gets more and more bitter/earthy and roasted. Finish is earthy like cocoa beans. Nice stuff.

Smuttynose Robust Porter hits it right on the mark. Dark brown pour with a tight tan head. Aroma is chocolate. Taste is malty with some roasty and chocolate notes. Robust nails the style solid.

Bottle. Dark cola body, big chocolate head with average retention, some lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, some raisins and a touch of molasses. Taste is on the dry side: roasted malts, well done toast, herbs and chocolate liquor. Good stuff.

Thanks to PaleAleRider for this one. Pours a dark brown colour with a creamy-foamy beige head with good retention and creamy lace. Roasted malt aromas with some nice sweetness to balance things, like cacao, vanilla also liquorice and a little grassy leaf. The taste starts off with coffee, steering into the burnt malt and finishing with the mild hops. Bitterness and dryness lingers. Quite a nice robust porter.

341ml bottle. Pours a huge frothy brownish head and has a dark brown appearance. Lots of sticky lacing remains. Good retention. Aromas of coffee, cocoa, chocolate and resin. Flavours are somewhat sweet at first but some bitterness and spice notes show up not too long after. Still with the coffee and chocolatey flavours but also some hints of dark roasted malt, toasty malts, resin and vanilla. Slight drying sensation on the palate.

Alkohol: 6,6% obj.
Kolor: Ciemny brąz przechodzący w czarny. Nieprzejrzysty trunek.
Piana: Wysoka, bujna, zbita jak białko. Beżowa czapa równo ułożonych drobnych oczek. Bardzo długo pozostaje na górze. Opada powoli do grubej warstewki. Na ściankach mnóstwo malunków. Silna strona piwa.
Zapach: Ciemne owoce. Przyjemnie.
Smak: Już po pierwszych łykach kremowe, gładziutkie i śliskie na języku. W smaku już potężna kawowość i płynna gorzka czekolada. W tle orzechy włoskie. Następnie karmel, trochę toffi i ciemne pieczywo. Posmak palonego ziarna ciągle pozostaje w ustach. Bardzo dobry, jak nie doskonały wyznacznik stylu.
Wysycenie: Niskie.
Podsumowanie:
Zawsze chciałem spróbować tego piwa. Browar specjalizuje się w świetnych porterach. Porter Bałtycki z Smuttynose należy do Top 3 najlepszych Baltic Porters na świecie. To piwo natomiast jest z pewnością wyznacznikiem stylu Robust Porter. Złożony smak i aromat tworzą ciemne słody, skórka chlebowa, toffi, karmel i oczywiście kawa z czekoladą.

33 cl bottle served in a white wine glass. Pours blackest of blacks, clean and bright. Moka-colored thick head. Intense aromas of coffe, chicory, leather, black chocolate and herbs. No liquorice present, though. Mouth feels soft, very creamy, elegant. Sheer but balanced bitterness. Very long-lasting finish. Very nice.
