Pours a yeasty dark amber, with a small white head. Very fruty aroma, apples, plums, malts, and a little caramel. The taste is full of the caramel, some cinnamon, fruits, and dakr sweet malts. I get some alcohol, but this beer isnt that strong. Pretty complex flavors make this beer pretty enjoyable. Very easy drinking for a scotch ale, the finish was smooth, and the aftertaste was sweet.

Bomber. Reddish brown with a thick khaki head. Earthy, sweet nose, caramel and light molasses. Rich toffee and earth flavors, lightly smoky peat. Body could be a bit more dense, but overall a nice brew.

Extremely malty aroma, popped right out of the glass. Very dark brown color with almost no off white head. Flavor is malty but a heavy bready taste at the end. Very enjoyable, but not the best Scotch Ale I’ve ever had.

Bottle. Nice looking pour with a nice fluffy head on top of a clear mahogany body. Decent enough aroma with shades of quite a few aspects, but nothing too overpowering. Caramel, semi-sweet chocolate, raisins, alcohol and some vanilla shows up late. When fresh from the fridge, I pick up a little bit of a hoppiness, but that goes away once it warms. Caramel, dark chocolate and alcohol are present throughout the mouthfeel. The alcohol detracts a bit from the overall experience. Not as earthy as I’d expect from a scotch ale, but not bad.

Bottle. Dark caramel coloured body with a white soapy head. Rich chocolate and caramel in the aroma along with alcohol and brown sugar. Some hop character in the flavour with notes of caramel and burnt toast. Alcohol is definitely felt throughout the experience.

Tasted at YeHA! 2006 in Montreal. App.: muddy brown with reddish hues. Aroma: strawberries, dried fruits, chocolate, vanilla, a little smokey and woody. Palate: med.-full body, a little chalky, med. low carbonation. Flav.: chocolatey, vanilla, berries and coffee, much like the nose again. It’s a bonnie beer....but it’s NOT oatmeal!!!
