Deep brown with a decent head. Smells of alcohol and raisens. Strong flavor, mostly dry alcohol- without being overpowering. Dry finish.

Cloudy brown with red edges and a thick off-white head which slowly dimishes. Aroma of caramel, floral hops and a hint of dust, yes dust. Pretty sweet. Taste has notes of caramel, brown sugar/molasses, peat/smoke, chocolate, some dark fruits and roasty malt. Aftertaste is slighty bitter and burnt. Mouthfeel is full and round but more on the medium side with lively carbonation. No lacing, decent head retention. Overall, pretty good.

Attractive, brilliant deep red. Sweet caramel aroma, touch of grain. Deep fluffy body, sweet, but too much so. Long malty aftertaste, with some complexity, touch of earthy hops. This beer feels great on the tongue, enough carbonation to prickle the tongue, but not enough to sting. This is fantastic. Thanks Dan!

12.20.04 bomber, #6 from the BIG BEER series. Hazy red beer with unever, though creamy, tan head. Strong alcohol nose and plenty of sweet earth and peat. Strawberry? Toasted marshmallow? Flavors in line with aroma -- reminds of a granola, wheat and corn flake, and dehydrated fruit breakfast cereal. Lots of earth, some wood; chocolate on back of palate. Good stuff, very boozy.

This beer rocks!...Crystal clear, copper ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Good retention. The nose is very malty with notes of toffee, caramel, bisquit, cola, light molasses and pear. Well-balanced flavor with light molasses, floral hops and a touch of salt. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, astringent, dry finish. World class beer!

Very nice smoky aroma and taste. Mild overall taste, no real alcohol trace anywhere. Beautiful dark chocolate look with nice lacing for a bottle. Well done, if a bit "normal."

2 year old bottle:
Hazy brown coloured body with a muddy red coloured tint. Nice dense tan head tops the beer. Aroma of bubble gum, malt, prunes, peat and some light nuts. Full-bodied; Prunes and peat dominate the taste with some other spices and lighter tastes running throughout the palate. Nuts, malt and some sugars are noticeable in the aftertaste. Overall, a good scotch ale-really nice after these two years! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 10-December-2004.
