Nut brown coloured. Sweetish with big, soft, chewy maltiness. A hint of crystal malt. Finishes with a well balanced bitterness. I really like the malt profile in this beer!

Hazy dark brown colour. Toasty, smokey aroma with a hint of brown sugar that also reminds me of a toasted coconut doughnut. So it would mix well with a coffee stout, then? Sweet, with rich toffee notes and accents of molasses and wood. I found the sweetness started to get to me by the end of the bomber but it’s a pretty solid beer and if sweet is your thing, do it up.

(5/18/08, draft) Off-white head with nice lacing atop clear copper body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, some raisin. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, roast, some raisin, light earthy, alcohol. Medium body (6/4/7/3/14)

(11/19/03) Small tan head atop a ruby body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, chocolate, coffee. Taste is sweet, malty, toffee/caramel, some coffee in the finish. Aftertaste leaves a hint of smoke, but I can’t detect it anywhere else. Medium-full body. Too sweet -- a disappointment. (5/3/5/4/10)

This beer rocks!...Crystal clear, copper ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Good retention. The nose is very malty with notes of toffee, caramel, bisquit, cola, light molasses and pear. Well-balanced flavor with light molasses, floral hops and a touch of salt. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, astringent, dry finish. World class beer!

(22oz. bottle, 2007 vintage) Pours a lightly cloudy amber-brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of peat, smoke, caramel, toffee, and light maple syrup. Flavor of raisins, roasted malt, peat, candi sugar, molasses, and light pepper with a dry finish.

Pours a rich dark mahogany brown with a nice, but short lived, light cream-colored head. Aroma is mostly full of malty sweetness and caramel with some hints at dark fruits and peat malt. Body starts very rich and robust with lots of sweet caramel toffee and toasted malts finishing with a small touch of milk chocolate and tartness. Palate has good thickness and a sticky finish. Overall a very nice, very malty brew. Thanks boto!

22oz bottle-pours a foamy tan head and amber color. Aroma is smoky/peat, medium malt. Taste is smoky/peat, medium malt, woody, secondary hops bite. OK carbonation. Nicely done, not my style. Good carbonation. Thanks jwc215 for sharing.
