COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was brewed to refill the bourbon barrels that were used in the Ry(e)an Ale project for Julio’s Liquors. There will be two different versions of this beer, the barrel aged version, which is still aging in the barrels (as of 7/12-10) and a non barrel aged version, which began to appear during the summer of 2010.

On tap at the Southern New Hampshire Brewers Fest 7/26/2013 Dark, Roasty, chocolate and caramel with spicy Belgian yeast to counter. Nice aged brew.

Pouring at Belgian Beer Fest. Pours a deep black to brown with a thin tan head. Big cocoa, chocolate, roast, sweet malt, yeast. Medium bodied, raisins and plums. Sweet cocoa, hot chocolate, pudding, long cocoa. Rich chocolate, malt, toast, roast. Rich and smooth. Lovely.

Belgian Beer Fest Boston. Black, brown head. Aroma of slightly sour coffee and chocolate. Taste is sourdough and chocolate, in a combination that works.

Barrel aged draft. Opaque brown with a thick tan head that left some lace. Dark malt flavors. Not particularly sweet. Medium roast coffee. Some light smoke. Some hop bite. Bit of caramel. Lots of character. Medium body. Best to sip this one.

Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Black - offwhite head. Cocoa, ok burned, roasted malts, light wooden notes, yeasty, sourish notes, acid notes, red berries, light phenols, belgian yeast. OK nice.... but a bit sour.

Bottle at Papsø. Dark brown coloured with a small beige head. Roasted aroma of caramel, coffee and dark chocolate with notes of burnt sugar. Roasted flavour of coffee and hops with notes of dark chocolate. Roasted finish.

Bottled. A murky dark brown beer with a thin dark tan head. The aroma has notes of vegetables, and off notes. The flavor is sweet and acidic with notes of malt, caramel, and earth, leading to an acidic finish.

Handbottle. Thx Plov for sharing. Black coloured. Dense black head. Aroma of cocoa, sweetness, roast, some liqourice, some coconut. Flavour of cocoa, liqourice, chcolate, some roast. Medium to full bodied. Ends on a light roasted bitterness. Nice and easy.
