Pours an extremely cloudy fluorescent pink color which kind of looks like a cross between grapefruit juice and a bloody Mary. One finger frothy white head that quickly settles into thin, lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind. The aroma of his beer is really bland. All I’m picking up is water until it warms up considerably. After a while there’s very faint lactic funk and a touch of strawberry and cream. Other than that, the nose on this beer is severely lacking. Very disappointing. Full body with strong acidic sourness up front that lingers over bready yeast and sweet fruit into a dry finish. Pretty tart and puckering but taste strongly of runts/sweetheart candy. Subtle lactic funk but more creamy/cheesy than musty. Lots of jammy, seedy strawberry and cream flavor countered by sourdough bread and very faint citrus peel. An interesting take to use strawberry and rhubarb in this style but something feels off here. Tartness/acidity level is okay but it has an artificial candy taste to it. Not much wheat beer character with only subtle bread/yeast and citrus flavor. Strawbery and cream is the most pleasant thing going on here. Adds a unique flavor to the style but I wish it had stronger traditional Berliner flavor.

(750ml, #743/929, bottled July 2013) Pours a murky pinkish yellow body with a medium white head. Aroma of mustiness, grain, dried strawberries, and earthiness. Flavor of strawberry, yeast, rhubarb, and grain with a dry finish. Would have liked to see more rhubarb coming through in the flavor.

Light wheat aroma and lemongrassy with slight sweetness from the strawberry. Cloudy murky shandy looking beer. Taste is slight tart, maybe 1 or 2 of 10. Has lactic sour but some funk as well. Much less sour than a normal Berliner. Almost get a bitter bite from the rubarb. Drinkable beer, but a bad version of a Berliner weisse. Not very impressive. More wheaty, murky and shandy like. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(draft @ Tap & Mallet - Rochester, NY) Cloudy gold pour with a fizzy white head. Earthy and dry slightly sour aroma with a nice hint of strawberry and rhubarb. Flavor is dry and tart with more rhubarb than strawberry. Slightly sour at the finish.

Fare thee well Josh tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to Leighton. Murky gold beer, pinky cream coloured head. Palate is airy and dry. Dry minerals and dry yeast. Little rhubarb and a little lactose. Somewhat insipid strawberry. Dry finish. Meh!

Bottle shared in London for my farewell drinks. Cheers to Leighton. Pours murky orange with a small beige cap. Nose is hugely floral and tarty with some light berries and heavy yeast. Taste is tangy, very floral - like lavender, orange juice and more tangy berries. Odd, doesn’t balance well. Just ok

Bottle shared at Josh’s Farewell Hoorah - thanks to Leigton, 20/02/14. Murky light orange holding reddish hues and topped with moderate off white spotting. Nose us big on plastic and permanent marker, not great here, strawberry shortcake and rhubarb crumble just peeping through, earthy tones. Taste comprises strawberry chews, lightly tartened strawberry, strawberry wins out over rhubarb in the flavour fight, straw, light spice, very subtle acidic tones - just evident. Light body, fine carbonation with a little prickle, semi drying close. Ok Berliner but far from top draw - the nose killed it really!
