3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a cloudy golden color. Aroma is big time centennial hops. Flavor is very hoppy and very wheaty. This is a pretty neat little American take on a German Weisse. Worth a try!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
10th rating for this brewski. Tap at the Blind Tiger. Pours cloudy peach yellow with a 1-finger fluffy head. Estery pineapple & strawberry aroma, surprisingly cheesy. You know, that ol’ French cheese. Mild tangerine from the hops. Bitter hops flavor, citrusy, with a bit of spineless malt backing it up. A bit wimpy overall.

Tap at BT last week. Aroma of apricot, other tropical fruits, floral notes, clove, a touch of bubblegum, wheat. Flavor more apricot hoppiness with a bunch of wheat base. Mildly dry. Quite tasty.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Blind Tiger: Nice cloudy golden with a strong lacing white head. Strong citrus hop aroma as well as a crisp lemon note from the fresh wheat mash. Some light banana and clove esters and plasticy phenolics. Quite inviting aroma. Fluffy bodied. Nice earthy, gritty flavor. A bit mineraly- spicy hop notes mesh with some dry phenolics make it seem mineraly with notes of white peppery. A balanced and interesting Hefeweizen. Nice one.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Blind Tiger. Deep yellow-orange beer with a creamy white head. Aroma is loaded with zesty lemony hops, herbs and a touch of wheaty spice. Light banana and peach with some light orange character as well. Flavour shows a lot of fresh zesty spicy/noble hops. Lots of fresh wheaty character, lightly lemony with a bit of lingering resinous character. It is quite similar in profile to the Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen Weisse and it is damn tasty. I’d like the body to be a bit fuller, but this is still a lovely brew. I’d love to see more of these hoppy hefeweizens... it’s a damn tasty take on the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Blind Tiger. Pours a cloudy light orange with a thick white head. Aroma of citrusy hops and some spices. It doesn’t smell like a hefe--lots of hop oils in the aroma. Flavor is hoppy initially with a wheaty finish. Clove and citrus present too. Very tasty. A very unique hoppy hefe. Well done!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at BT. Pours a hazy golden with a thin lasting white head. Aroma is fruity esters- more on the citrusy orange side- waxy orange candy- slight orange tic tac- grassy herbal hops and slightly weedy- garlic mustard hints with doughy wheaty yeast. Doughy flavor, wheat, bread, grassy, herbal, and more orange notes. Sweet and slight slick finish. Pretty good- weird though.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at The Porter.Pours a cloudy old gold with white head and leaves light lacing on the glass. The aroma is intoxicating: honey, hops, grass, cloves, and subtle licorice. Flavor starts grainy with spice and lots of noble hops. The mid-palate is bitter and spicy: cloves, peppery phenols, and bitter citrus rind. The beer has a long and lingering finish that is dry and bready with noble hops and light notes of yeast and spice. Mouthfeel is medium in body and slippery and lively with carbonation. Overall, an interesting beer, but not as refreshing as a less hoppy weizen. But it is still drinkable and flavorful.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at at Taco Mac Metropolis.
Pours an extremely hazy bright yellow with a smallish white head that doesn’t stick around long and leaves no lacing.
The nose surprised me a little bit as it was dominated by citrus hops, lemons especially. The wheat smells were there but definitely overshadowed by the hops.
The initial taste is of the same citrus hops with lemons and some grapefruits. The wheat presence is a little more evident in the taste with the bubblegum and banana sweetness one would expect in the style. The finish was definitely on the bitter side for a hefe.
The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and had lower carbonation than I was expecting.
This is a unique take on the hefe with lots of hops and less of the traditional hefe characteristics.
