Commercial Description:
S'muttonator is a tasty mixture of German ingredients and good ol' fashioned New England tenaciousness. Our brewers take 30 hours to brew a single batch of this traditional Double Bock. Take your time and enjoy its rich, malty, and deceptively smooth flavor.

Immediately after pouring, a powerful vanilla, malty smell was released, yet almost immediately afterwards, it faded into an alcoholic tinge with mild notes of smokey wood. The color of the beer is beautiful. Dark brown, looks like a dark cherry wood. Head came thick and high, slightly more yellow than offwhite. Taste is very complex. Flavors of vanilla, maple syrup, caramel, and roasty, delicious malt. Although most here seem to think alcohol is light, i find it to be a very noticeable flavor element. Lacing is sort of ugly and all over the place, thick. Finish is heavenly with a syrupy moutfeel and a long, dry caramel flavor coming through. Overall I really enjoyed this 22oz bottle. I’ll definitely keep my eyes open from here on out.

22oz bottle via trade with goldtwins and someone else as well - Thanks Larry! - Pours ruby brown with a short offwhite head. Aromas of sweet malts, caramel, vanilla, raisins, and even a bit of brown sugar. Flavor is very much inline with the aroma. Big caramel malts, a touch of vanilla, raisins, roasted nuts, some toffee all intertwined wonderfully. Palate is medium bodied without much carbonation but a nice creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff!

Dark, ruby body with small off-white head. The aroma is loaded with caramel and toffee. The flavor is toffee, cherries, caramel, a touch of piney, nutty bitterness at the end. The mouthfeel is smooth with soft carbonation and a chewy texture.

Thanks for Blake for the sample. Nice slight malty aroma. Nice deep brown color, with little head. Pretty good flavor, it was strong and malty. Decent body and carbonation. Overall, this was OK, but nothing special to me.

Lightish brown pour w/ a large frothy off white head w/ some soapy lacing. aroma is sweet some light fruit, strawberries and maybe a fig, and a light alcohol and grain. palate is lightly creamy and well coated. flavor is sweet full carmel and a light fruity hop with some toasted grains. Not much to it, not all that good.

2005 bottle. The beer pours to a glowing deep orangish amber body. Light beige head. The aroma is light. Syrup, light nuttiness, lightly alcoholic. The flavor is strawberry seeds, roasty syrup, nuttiness. The palate is very warming, medium bodied, smooth and creamy. I don’t understand how this rates so highly, however.
