Nice aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. Nice chocolate molasses and syrup flavors surrounding a sweet cinnamon roll. Nice, thick mouthfeel. GREAT beer! rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Oct 17, 2008 Malty and a robust fruit aroma. Medium tan head and burgundy color. Mild beginning with a grapish finish. Silky palate. blipp (1631), Newark, New Jersey, USA Oct 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours ruby brown with a lasting beige head. Toasty malt aroma with chocolate and caramel sweetness. The flavor is also toasty malt with a light raisin-esque fruitiness, as well as chocolate and caramel. A fair amount of hops show up in the finish, which I really liked. Very good. Arayaga2 (933), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 8, 2008 Opaque brown with a thin brown crest of head. Aroma is sweet and raisiny with port like notes... rather barleywine. Taste is sweet pumpernickel and tangy raisin. Very rich and substantial with mildly tannic oaky aftertaste. $6/22oz michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 8, 2008 22oz. Bottle: Aroma of malts, caramel, rye, beans, and sweet malts. Poured cherry-wood brown with a hint of ruby in color and a medium-sized, dense head that lasted throughout. Sparkling. Very hazy. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malts, caramel, light toasting, resin, tar, raisins, hops. Medium to full body. Viscous texture. Average carbonation. Smooth, malt, raisin and resin finish. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Oct 7, 2008 On tap @ Coles Buffalo NY. Pours a deep chestnut brown color. Roasted & sweet malt aroma. Notes of chocolate. Sweet tasting, boozy, brandy. Fuller bodied. Rich. One big beer fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Oct 6, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of soda and honey, yuck. Thankfully flavor wasn’t quite as soda-laden, with some cookie dough malt jumping in, but still extremely sweet. Mouthfeel of carbonated syrup. Not as disgusting as the aroma led me to believe, but no good either.
