ABV, Volume & Calories: 8.5% in 22 fl oz. estimated at 400 C
Purchased at: Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ for $5.89
Aroma: nice, syrup, maple, mold, rose, citrus.
Visuals: interesting packaging, iced tea, reddish brown, slightly hazy, off white long lasting head, intricate lace.
Taste: well balanced, high malt, medium hops, medium high strength.
Palate: high quality, spicy, scratchy, dry, longer drying finish.
Overall: A very well done beer, and one of the few doppelbocks I’ve truly enjoyed. If they were all like this, I might like the style more. I’d have this again, though it’s not what I’d call a favorite. High value for a well crafted brew. blutt59 (2099), Dallas, Texas, USA

Aroma of malt, caramel, and chocolate. Flavor is full-bodied, rich, and very tasty. There are strong chocolate notes present, blended with some wood. As is stylistically predictable, Summtonator has little hop profile to be detected. Nonetheless, a very tasty brew that faired well in my beer tasting amongst friends. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours ruby brown with a lasting beige head. Toasty malt aroma with chocolate and caramel sweetness. The flavor is also toasty malt with a light raisin-esque fruitiness, as well as chocolate and caramel. A fair amount of hops show up in the finish, which I really liked. Very good. Arayaga2 (950), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
