Commercial Description:
S'muttonator is a tasty mixture of German ingredients and good ol' fashioned New England tenaciousness. Our brewers take 30 hours to brew a single batch of this traditional Double Bock. Take your time and enjoy its rich, malty, and deceptively smooth flavor.

2004 vintage received via trade with sloth. Pours dark brown with a spare, fizzy, light brown head, mostly diminishing with no lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (biscuit, cookie, bread, nutty), heavy hops (perfume, flowers), average yeast (dough) with notes of alcohol, pear, dates, apples, and brown sugar. Full bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a spicy finish. Long duration, heavy sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Dark brown, the color of a chocolate lab. The head was thick and brown, leaving a substantial lacing. The aroma was malty on a background of sweetness. The result was caramelly but not quite caramel. The flavor was a bit short lived. The carbonation was nice but rushed the malty sweet tones and rushed to a metallic aftertaste. Overall warm and certainly above average.

22 oz. bottle. Poured a cloudy red with a very subtle nose. Very creamy tan head. However, flavor was a bit too sweet and raisiny for my taste. Very yeasty, rich mouthfeel.

(Bottle). Malty sweet aroma. Color a dark reddish brown, with a moderate creamy tan head. Flavor is attractively complex, although a little sweeter than I expect in a doppelbock. Some fruit, lots of malt. Good mouthfeel. Nice effort, but not up to the standard of Celebrator.

pours a dark garnet with really nice bubbly head. Aroma is fruity, sweet, with caramel and some citrus. Flavor is delicious- some yeast quality, cider, fruit, and malt. Palate is delicious. Great offering from Smuttynose, go NH.

Shared with craftycarl21- thanks Carl. Pours dark reddish brown with lively, and somewhat large head. Aroma is caramel, orange, and lighter sweet fruit. Some dark fruit in there as well. Biscuit, and malt character powerful. Flavor is tons of caramel, ripe fruit, cider, and huge maltyness. Palate is smooth and full. I’m proud to live in New Hampshire- Smuttynose kicks ass.
