Not bad for a summer weizen. Pours cloudy but no chunks? Major hops on the nose, bananna and slight cloves. It tasted like a cross between an IPA and a wheat beer. Keep in mind the label says "summer weizen" therefore it’s a light styled wheat beer. You will experience the weizen style but it finishes clean and refreshing as a summer beer should! How did you get a picture of my mother???

Straw color, light golden, a bit hazy, with small, quickly diminishing off white head. Aroma is of tart citrus, wheat, taste is wheat, light phenolics, some tart citrus, with a smooth finish. refreshing. good summer beer.

Very nice weizen. Full wheat aroma and nice smooth palate. Some fruit peels in the taste gives it a bit of crispness.

Bottled. Poured a very slightly hazy medium golden with a short-lived cap of white head. Nose was predominantly of orange rind sticky caramel-laced wheat... with overtones of cloves and freshly-milled grain. Flavor was decidedly spicy in nature.. with orange zest, cloves, and banana peel leading the way. Wheaty tartness provides another layer of complexity.. and citrus drove through the finish. Decent mouthfeel and medium carbonation.. losing a bit across the middle. Certainly better than expected.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2006 Light to medium gold, decent head. Aroma of cloves and a bit of bubblegum, ester focused. Flavor aslo matches, highly estery. Which I appreciate, but I truly wish this had more wheat (any?) come through. Side note: this was my 100th rating in the Weizenvolker.

Clear golden with a small white head - the only bit of cloudiness came from a couple drops of yeast. Clove and banana in the nose. Flavor has notes of citrus/lemon, clove, banana, flowers, wheat, spiciness and a surprising hop bitterness the finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Not much lacing or head retention. Not bad.

12oz bottle: Pours to a mostly clear, very slightly cloudy, pale golden yellow with a medium, thick white head that shows a little lacing. The aroma is mild lemon, corriander, dry mild cloves, vanilla, bitter yeast, and light wheat. The taste is lightly bitter citrus hops, lemon, corriander, wheat. It’s dry and somewhat tart, light bodied, medium carbonated. Finishes with a lightly tart grainy wheat flavor.

Poured from bottle. Interesting - kinda like a lager, kinda like a pilsener. Smell is fresh malt. Flavor starts off like lager, but the hops kick in nicely as it warms. Finishes like pilsener, but malt flavor comes through, with vanilla notes in the aftertaste. Nice hybrid.

Bottle. Hazed gold body with a small white head. Nose is wheat, lemon, light spice, and mild hops. Light yeast notes as well. Taste is surprisingly above average. Lots of wheat, lemon, yeast, light spice and mild hops. Body is a bit crisp at times, and seems to end on a dry note. Mild carbonation and a light-medium overall feel. Not necessarily "refreshing", but still an appropriate summer beer. Finishes with more yeast notes, wheat, spices, grassy hops, lemony notes and dried fruit notes.
