12oz brown bottle obtained at Shaw’s (7.49$/sixer) best by October 2009. Pours a hazy golden yellow body with a half inch of short-lived off-white head. Smells really good - lemon, orange, a bit of pith, a touch of spice maybe? Tastes sweet and fruity, with orange and lemon at the forefront, some pith, and a touch of caramel toward the middle to finish. Aqueous mouth-feel with moderate carbonation. Goes down way too easily, even for the style. An extremely decent American wheat. Another slam-dunk for Smuttynose! And for the availability and price down here, I can see myself drinking an awful lot of this beer this summer!

Draft. Cloudy pale yellow color, solid white head and lacing. Aroma of oregano and rosemary! Wow - unexpected. Taste is spiced and slightly sour bread dough and citrus. A very pleasant change from the usual bland and boring summer beers.

Hay gold thin white head, sexy, like the label; soft but pleasant aroma; refreshing dry slightly spicy slightly citrusy complex subtle flavor; feels light but full on the tongue and palate; get and drink it. If you a lightish refreshing summer beer with a bold subtle flavor.

Bottle: Nice shiny straw colored beer with a head with the consistency of melted marshmellows. There’s a very faint yeasty aroma and a quite restrained flourish of citrus and yeast on the palate. This has a nice corriander-yeast twist that’s quite interesting. Compare this to the Mendocino Summer Ale I just had and it’s much better balanced, more artistically assembled and exquisitely more drinkable. Very good.

Got this in the summer mix pack. Pours out a clear light yellow with good head. The first few sips were not that impressive, but after a while I realize that this is a very decent and refreshing summer brew. Very bready flavors. Like a cracker. A little fruity-floral spice, with a light sweetness. Begs for another sip. Well balanced, and not fizzy. A smooth drinker. One of the better American style wheats I’ve had.

Not bad for a summer weizen. Pours cloudy but no chunks? Major hops on the nose, bananna and slight cloves. It tasted like a cross between an IPA and a wheat beer. Keep in mind the label says "summer weizen" therefore it’s a light styled wheat beer. You will experience the weizen style but it finishes clean and refreshing as a summer beer should! How did you get a picture of my mother???

12 oz. bottle from BOTMC. Drank on 7/26/06. Classic weizen look. Cloudy yellow. 1 cm. bubbly white head. Drops to a thin layer of foam, eventually a ring. OK lacing. Aroma - not too strong, just right. Weizen aroma - slight banana, clove, hefe yeast, and noble hop spice. Flavor - spicy and bitter up front. Watery, cold, and smooth in the middle. Some nice subtle weizen flavors in and after the swallow - banana, cloves, and yeast. Palate - nice and light, crisp, sharp carb. Overall - Great summer wheat beer. I’m not huge on wheats, but this is a good one. I like how the wheat beer flavors subtle, but definitely present. I could put down a few of these on a hot day.

This beer came to me in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale golden color with a small soapy white head. The aroma is grainy dry wheat, pepper and hints of citrus. Aromatically reminiscent of a Belgian WIt. The flavor is citrus, wheat and tangy sweet malts. The finish is long and sweet. Quite tasty.

cloudy white under a small creamy white head. lemon, vanilla aroma. light body. lemony, honey, vanilla, sugar cereal with a grainy aftertaste. lots of little nuances in here. pretty good wheat beer.
