dkachur (641), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jul 22, 2008 12 oz. bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville. Best before December 2008. Slightly hazy orange pour with a medium head. Decent lacing. Aroma is caramel and fruity esters. Taste is very strong wheat, slightly bitter, with a bit of apple/citrus fruitiness. Medium body. Very carbonated. haukur (655), Reykjavik, Iceland Jul 22, 2008 draft, a bit weird, very clear for a wheat beer. Grassy, bready, very light. Lacking everything a wheat should be but drinkable in the nyc heat mansquito (576), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Jul 16, 2008 This is a strange little beer. It makes you think that it is more than it is. It doesn’t seem like a normal American wheat. All my friends said that it tasted exceptionally strong for a mere 5.2, But anyway, here it goes. Gold color. Solid white head. Strong wheaty smell. Pretty bitter and hoppy for a wheat ale. Leaves a discernible aftertaste. Pretty grassy all around. PilsnerPeter (1324), Flushing, New York, USA Jul 14, 2008 Bottle: Pours a slightly hazy golden with a stable white head. The aroma has some mild wheat malt, some bready notes, and peppery citrus. Nice and bright. Fairly light body, but with a decent flavor. Light bready base with a crisp wheaty/citrus presence. Has some lemon zest as well as mild peppery grassy notes. Finish is dominated by a spicy bitter grassy character. Not bad; a nice summer quencher. notalush (1971), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Jul 10, 2008 Pours a fizzy hazy gold - aroma is a wee bit skunky, with some very present phenolic character, some bready character, melon rind, and a fairly apparent wheat - fairly dry beer, with rather strong hop bitterness for a wheat ale - gets peppery at times - a bit of citrus and bread/wheat flavors - gets a little chalky in the finish, with some dry, cracker/biscuit notes - a little lemony - it’s okay.
