6 pack for 2 bucks. I’m not a huge pilsner fan, but Smuttynose makes great beers, so what the hell? Pours a hazy yellow color with a huge white head that dissipates pretty quickly. Smells and tastes more like your standard summer beer; grassy, wheat, slightly hoppy, very crisp. Body, carbonation are both average. Texture is slightly slick. Overall this is a decent pilsner. Not amazing but very easily drinkable and crisp. My bottle says 5.2% ABV.

On tap at Shaw’s, Pemaquid Maine. Pours clear yellow w/ long lasting white head. Aroma is lemon, dandelions, straw, malt, slight yeastiness. Flavor is citrusy, light, some bread, lightly hopped. Body is what you’d expect from a pilsner-- a perfectly serviceable compliment to a gigantic order of fish and chips on a warm day.

A clear yellow with a medium foamy white head. Notes of sweet lemon citrus aroma, some yeast and bready as well. Taste is mild sweet lemon citrus, grains, bready with a bit of yeast, a light hops flavor, some pils malt. A light to medium body, refreshing and pleasant on the palate. Finish is sweet citrus fruity notes, yeast and bread, grains and light hops on the end. This is a very refreshing and good drinking Pilsener brew for the spring and summer season.

(Rating #6306)

Taster at the source. I’m not a big fan of pilsners, so bear that in mind if you bother reading this. Pours straw gold with a big white head. Everything she pours is like half head. Aroma is biscuit and lemon. Flavor is biscuit, lemon, a bit of almond. Saaz hop finish. Solid.

Smells nice, fresh, and lightly hoppy, bready and a bit yeasty. Taste is moderately crisp with a yeastiness as it warms. Decent pilsner, but not one of my favorites.

About a month past best by date. A: Deep dirty yellow. Maybe some chill haze. Half finger of tight white head. decent retention and good lacing S: Biscuit bread/pretzel with herbal hops. T: Sharp maltiness with herbal hops note almost all at once. Sourdough malt flavor is most pronounced. Hops linger on the finish. M: Nice and not quite as light as I expected. Average but nice enjoyable level of carbonation. Fairly dry pleasant finish. O: I like this beer in general but this is perhaps lacking a bit of "snap" that I’m used to due to age.

On tap at Alibi, Seoul. Almost perfumy aroma with noble hops and hay. Clear straw under a thin white cover. Quite bitter lager flavour with pleasant soda cracker malt and some faint lemon. Light body, moderate carbonation, almost crisp.
