07.02.04 12oz bottle. Fairly dark, I thought, for a wit. Then I realized that it’s supposed to be a hefe? Wheaty, like white bread. Very light, and quite carbonated. Only a glimpse of citrus/lemon in the flavor. This beer is not as exciting as I’ve become used to with Smuttynose. Drinkable and crisp, non-offensive, but it’s almost hard to believe this is from the same brewery as the other Smuttynose beers I love.

Mostly clear golden with a medium, white, ricky head. Light wheat aroma backed by a hint of spicy clove. Flavor is light banana, wheat and some clove. Very mellow for the style. Light uninteresting body. Overall acceptable but nothing more.

Aroma was actually a bit off putting, much like cheap beer. Flavor was better. The flavor was a mild yeasty fruitiness, a bit of banana, and a slight slight bit of bubblegum on the finish. No flavors came on very strong and it was actually a bit weak. Not a bad beer but less then par for the style.

Aroma of yeast, some hops, malt, and banana. Tastes like a weizen should, with a yeast, banana, wheaty finish.

Dusty grainy (wheat) nose, creamy head, gold color. Citrusy malt with some bready, müsli qualities. Thin and quick profile. Not so good overall, but drinkable.

Ok but nothing special Sweet pleasant nose. Weak banana taste - nothing more, nothing less.

Hazy apple juice with medium white head. Aroma is banana, yeast, light clove. Taste is spicy, clove, light lemon. Carbonated light-medium body, some tart crispness.

Nice banana nose with a light spicey end. Hazy yellow in colour. Crisp malts and light spices, with a touch of lemon, some bananas. Light bodied. Honest.

Hazy, light yellow lager with a large, frothy, white head. Good lacing.
Dictionary definition of how a hefeweizen should smell. Clove, apple, pear, banana... even a hint of bubblegum. Well-balanced, lemony, spicy flavor. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, dry finish.

Hazy light golden in color with a small white head. Aroma is of banana, and slightly tart. Flavor is of tangy wheat,banana,spice and slightly sweet. A real mainstream attempt at hefe, probbaly my least favorite Smuttynose.
